I am a chartered accountant working with one of the big four in the consulting side in the banking space.

How about you? How is KF for a career in consulting/IB? Any idea. I havent interacted much with the alums.

I am more interested in product development / mgmt. consultancy (tech.). Don't have much idea about finance side of KF. Study it's placement statistics and you shall have rough idea.

Did anyone else in R3 who has interviewed receive an email with the subject "An Invitation to Apply to be Considered for the Dean's Fellows Program at UNC Kenan-Flagler" ?

The first sentence is intriguing and is making my mind race about acceptance possibilities... "Congratulations on receiving an MBA fellowship to UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School."

I wasn't aware that I had received a fellowship at all. I haven't been accepted yet. Wanted to pose a question to the group to see if anyone else had received the same message and if it could be a mistake that I'm reading too much into.

I received the same email, not until 11 though, so it seems there may have been some sort of thought behind it...hopefully it's not a mistake, my fingers are crossed. Have you even received an admissions decision? I haven't so I called and someone is supposed to get back to me later today.

It's also interesting because the website states that there is no additional application for the Dean's Fellows program which evidently is no longer true.

greetings -- I am debating whether or not to apply in the upcoming R3. I have had some hard dings from some schools that I thought I'd get interviews with (HBS, UPenn, MIT), and now I only have a few more applications out there. I realize that I put all my eggs in one basket in Boston, and now need to identify one or two more schools to get after. I have no option to apply next year -- I am in the Army and need to go to grad school this summer for my follow-on assignment. Here are my stats -- 3.4 GPA (GWU, DC), 8 years active duty Army expericence, GRE (no GMAT) 590q, 550v (roughly 560 GMAT equiviliant, taking it again this weekend to try to bolster the score). Any advice?? I am a little jaded after applying to programs that articulated "total-scholar" look at their applications...and don't want to invest a ton of time just to get shot down again -- I dont have the luxury.

Not to knock on you or anything, but you expected interviews with bonafide Top 5 schools with a 560 GMAT equivalent? Do you happen to have a lot of personal decorations?
