Apologies. I didn't know that I was being judged by how clever my post are.

Top Tier MC job or IB job is hard to land at any school you go to, regardless if its in the top 16 or not.

IMO. I believe that Kenan Flagler has a better relationship with the top MC firms vs Georgetown.

jordanhendrix
^^^ clever rebuttal there.

Look there is no massaging it, top tier MC job is VERY hard to land outside of the top 16 schools. end of story

Oh yea, apology accepted, very sweet of you!

I hope no one has anything negative about them on the web!

hope they wont rescind my admittance
This is not particular new "news" in terms of personal web info being searched - there are plenty of companies firing employees for doing silly stuff so it is not too surprising schools are doing it too now. It would be funny if someone's facebook has him/her in both the "UNC admitted group " and "school XYZ admitted group though"...

all, let's get over the employ. stats and the rankings (first time I hear something like "top 16"!!!) and admit that UNC has a clear edge over Georgetown. If there is one thing that everyone should learn these forums and discussions, it's the fact that there is much into programs then their rankings.

Nevertheless, in terms of general rep. Georgetown might seem to be (and may be, indeed) a better school than UNC but Kenan-Flagler is really really better than McDonough by all means.
Now some will go ahead and say that "But, it depends on your profile and what you want to do with your degree" kind of stuff. Yet, I believe that if you do your homework (wrt recruiting etc.) Kenan-Flagler would give one notch above of everything that McDonough can give you.

Whos talking about rankings? We all know rankings arent the final say in any regards. Were talking about REAL statistics over the years.

So we should get over "employ. stats" and just look at forums. LOL

if you want to do federal consulting in DC and pick UNC over Gtown you are a certified moron.
If you want to work for Bank of America in Charlotte/ATL and pick Gtown you are a certified moron.

Your conclusion of UNC beating Gtown in everything is so simple and weak that anything you say from now on must be taken with a grain of salt.

Sound like you work for UNC's PR dept. haha

Both schools are OK, and yes UNC may be slightly better received (In general) by certain industries, you should dig deeper than forums and websites to find the best fit.....isn't that something that is preached on this site too?

Count me in as a R3 applicant who has interviewed. KF has the longest wait between application submission/interview and the decision date.

Well said Skeecheerio. Even if one lands in Harvard and doesnt utilize opportunities in an optimal manner its of no use.

Hey Folks,

Had my interview today with an alum in Mumbai (India)

He kicked off the whole process by stating that this is an informal chat and to just chill. This will be used as a data point.

The questions asked:
1. Why MBA
2. Why UNC
3. Leadership challenge faced
4.Leadership failure
5.Why consulting
6. Why long term goal
7. Then he spoke about finding it refreshing to see a CA applying from India as against an engineer
8. Leadership style
9. Why a second line should be created
10. What are my interests and he asked me about community initiative?

I asked him about his UNC experience and why he chose UNC over other schools.

Overall the interview was very conversational and he also told me that UNC is an exceptional school and I should seriously consider it. He is also in the deans advisory council and was telling me things I should do when i go to campus.

Now fingers crossed and waiting for D day. :-D

Regards
Prashant

Gotta think about the flip side of that too -- what are the chances of someone landing in Harvard if they don't know how to use opportunities presented to them on a silver platter?

I had almost similar experience and questions. Except I was an Engineer and it was not 'so refreshing' for him.
His questions were specifically regarding my work experience, projects I have handled and team experiences. That was his agenda for interview I guess.

Also, some questions regarding why MBA after Engineering, what if you don't get job, what in US attracts you, and some questions about undergraduate engineering schools.

We talked about for like 45 minutes. I think my interview was very average. I could have done much better.

I only have these two call - Tepper and UNC. Now the wait begins.
