This is great news. I marked my calendar to show the decision dates for each school, but I must have put the deposit date for KF. I was wondering why it took them so darn long to make a decision. I guess we will see how next week goes. I like this part of the application process and it's fun to be a part of the excitement here.Best of luck everyone.

new rankings... unc 19th - i think thats like 2 ranks up from last year? Also from the new salary/career figures i notice that there's more finance grads than consulting (67 vs 25) and compared to gtown's (51 vs 46) it seems gtown has more consulting jobs post mba than unc especially with a smaller class size?
Someone took a consulting job for 60k? Granted, the low finance placement is even more hilarious. An average of 104k probably means almost none top-tiered consulting firm placements.
Consulting low salary $60,000 Consulting average salary $104,903 Consulting high salary $135,000
Finance/accounting low salary $40,000 Finance/accounting average salary $89,599 Finance/accounting high salary $112,000
I'm struggling a bit with a decision. I submitted my application materials with the intention of retaking the GMAT and submitting it during the review period. It seems the admissions committee backdated my application and made a decision before I could get the new GMAT score to them. Result? Offer of admission, but no scholarship money. My strategy failed! Sigh. Did this happen to anyone else?
Now I've received a second offer from a similar school with a small scholarship basically setting the total tuition amounts of the two schools even. I like both schools equally. I'm so torn. Hoping the decision will be made clear after visiting the campuses next month.
Is there a Facebook group for students admitted to UNC KF for Fall 2011?

Hi, I'm a prospective class of 2013 whos trying to make a decision between UNC and Duke. (for finance) I have opened up a thread for this question of mine under GMAT Club Forum Index » Business School and MBA » Business School Reviews- and please feel free to drop your 2 cents there!
where do you see the finance placement numbers? do you mean the mean wage for finance? why do you think that is low and hilarious? sorry to compare this sepecifically with Duke- they seem to have a 94k. Is that low and hilarious as well? could you please elaborate on that?
also although I'm not interested in consulting- your analysis on that section is interesting as well. by just looking at the average can you say that no top tier has hired there? e.g. (sorry!) again comparing with Duke- they have 111K- so a +7k difference could make you say that top-tiers do hire there? (as a proofcheck, M/B/B do hire there, so is it just the 7K difference- really how did you reach to the conc. that they don't hire there?)
thanks- hope to read your comments in my thread at UNC vs Duke

Oh great. Now UT is 17th and UNC is 19th. This makes my decision between the two even harder. Planning on being a social entrepreneur in the high tech space post graduation.
I had an alumni interview on 12th March. I have update UNC that I have completed my interview through mail. But, I have not received any confirmation mail from UNC / adcom that they have updated my records. I am also not able to see any update regarding same in online application.
What about other R3 applicants who have been interviewed? What does your status read? Did you get confirmation from UNC / adcom that they have updated your record or received necessary credentials from interviewer?
Does KFBS start callin the admitted students before the actual date ie 21st or will all the action happen on the day itself?

Several admitted students were notified during the week preceding the deadline, but the majority received the e-mail on the day itself. At least this was for the previous Round
the unc finance numbers should be up this year. almost every first-year student going after ib landed somewhere for the summer. also, remember the number of students interested in ib at unc is going to be much smaller than other schools. summer internship placements included morgan stanley, barcap, bofa-ml, ubs, lazard, wells, and many boutiques.
Any idea how the current class is doing in terms of marketing recruiting? I'm also trying to decide between Duke and UNC, and from what I can tell, a lot of companies come to both schools, but there seem to be a few that only come to Duke.
