Oh this sounds frightening, since there was a guy who submitted his app. on 1/3 and received an invite on Monday.
And 1/3 was the last day of the deadline

I submitted my application on 1/3 literally minutes before the deadline and received an invite on Monday, so I doubt invites are sent out in the order apps were received.

I also think that they don't send it in a time line order. I submitted my application in mid December and never heard anything yet. One thing though, if they decided to reject application, then it's understandable why there is no answer, because dings will be sent out on Jan 26.
GSB's policy seems a bit fair to me, at least it's on "first come, first served" basis. This one is a reverse first come first served, assuming the comment above
