That sucks. Were you notified via email? Looks like the timeline from submission to notification is around 6 weeks minimum now?

I got the email notifying me that a decision had been rendered. I check my status this morning, so there wasn't much delay if any.

@brainhurt: Wow 780. That is amazing. I'm positive your other schools will roll out the red carpet for you.

GMAT is just one data point. I know several ( know== know them well) folks who scored 700-730'ish range and have gotten multiple offers from top schools.
I also know some co-workers who have gotten 760-780'ish (even one 790) who applied to top 5 only to get dinged.
GMAT is only 10-15% of your application packet. It's a very attractive factor which draws people easily, but not necessarily the most important factor.

Don't feel too bad. App season is only beginning and there are plenty of other bschools out there.

I didn't get into my 1st choice either (Tuck). Life goes on....

From what I understand, CBS says online it usually takes 8-12 weeks. This means it could be 1-4 weeks or 12+ weeks too. The earlier you apply, the shorter. The later you apply, the longer.

I guess they're serious about the whole "holistic" thing ;)

As disappointing as it is, I'm not overly surprised. I was working against a rushed last-minute app that I submitted on the last application deadline in April. I'm kicking myself for taking the advice of an admissions consultant and going for it at the end of the admissions cycle rather than going with my gut and just waiting for this year. My goals weren't well thought out in that app, and in this app I feel I did a much better job of articulating everything, but in the end I couldn't overcome the disconnect between my last app and this one.

You're a saint, brainhurt. Wait till you get into CBS, though -- let's see you how long you remain committed to this project. :)

And on that note, anyone else interested in taking over updating the spreadsheet along with LGB, lol?

I'm gonna throw a suggestion out there for CBS... after you ding someone, maybe it's a good idea to remove them from your marketing email list? I just got another invite to the Vancouver info session, lol. (btw, that's like inviting someone who lives in NYC to a session in LA.)
