@brainhurt - if I may ask, which consulting service did you use?

You have a PM. I'm hesitant to post the name publicly, but if anyone wants to know send me a PM. It wasn't one of the well-known consultants who post on this board (that was before I discovered the wealth of information that is the GMAT Club).

Sorry to hear about the bad news, brainhurt. You've been a good source of informaton on this thread. I appreciate the insight on your ding. I think I will do the same when I get my ding.

Good luck on your other apps. At least it should be easier to proclaim your love for NYU now.

It's true! As much as I would have loved to get into CBS, I really clicked with NYU, so maybe this is a blessing (even if it feels like a kick in the nuts right now).

True. Though yesterday, I did receive the notification that my application went from "being printed" to "under review". They have been working hard, it seems.

Looks like we are on the same boat. My application went from "print" to "review" yesterday. Waiting really is the worst...which means that it cannot become worse!

Good luck!

Wow, it's going to be an intense month! My application went into "under review" on Friday, and I'm already pretty jittery.

If J-term applicants have been waiting for 6 weeks, we S-termers appear to stand quite a minor chance of hearing back any time soon..

What date did you submit? At the deadline (Oct. 6th) or before?

I submitted a few hours before the deadline and my application went "under review" last week.

I was placed 'under review' October 3. On a different note, it looks like the interview percentage at Columbia has dropped. Business Week states 36% of all applicants were interviewed in 2009. In previous years, I think about half of applicants were interviewed. If 15% of applicants are accepted, this means to me if you receive an interview invite you stand about a 42% chance of being accepted. I know 42% isn't a big percentage, but it is heartening to know that an interview invite means you are almost a coin flip chance of being accepted.

On the statistics topic, does anyone has an opinion on what is the average chance of acceptance once you are waitlisted (particularly in the J-term)?

Tks,
