I'm not sure if this is 100% legit, but I just refreshed my applicant page, and a new form was there "Search for an Interviewer"

I'm assuming this means I have an invite?!!!!!!!!!!

Applied - 9/23
This is how I found out I got an interview.

Some people have had extremely positive interview experiences, where the interviewer has 'recommended' them, yet they still haven't been accepted.

I read a Q&A with the admissions director that the interview can happen at any stage of the process. Therefore, the likelihood of acceptance after an interview can be well below 50%.

Does anyone have any insight into this?

I think you take it with too much guessing.
It's useless to guess how other people do their interview, how much the acceptance rate is, or how other people feel about their interview. The only thing that matters is that you should focus on preparation and practice as much as possible. Other's success or failure has nothing to do with yours.

One more data point here. Did not waive, got in and will be attending. I know everyone freaks out over the tiniest things because it is a big deal to them but just relax, I think the adcoms care a bit more about you as a person than if you waived your right to see your rec or not.

I would put things in two groups:
1. Things that help your case
2. Things that don't help your case.

Not waiving certainly gets into the second category. I don't know if it will harm your application or not, but it will definitely not help.

Meh just did some research and it looks like they recommend you to waive your right to viewing it. Obviously didn't matter for me but I guess just waive it but I think it is NBD if you don't.

Does anyone that applied in regular decision have already received an interview invite? If yes, when did you applied?

RD applications will only be processed after the ED applications are thoroughly looked at. Based on the current backlog/lack of interviwe invites for some, I would say RD applications wont be read till early November with possible invites sent out starting mid November.

I applied early Sept but haven't heard back...even the admission person told me they will look at within six weeks...I guess it's not the case anymore :P

Quick question:

I submitted on 9/23, but there has been no 'status' change on the applicant status page.

It still says 'submitted' - I've heard that it changes for applicants within 1-3 days after submission from 'submitted' to 'printed/being reviewed'.

Could anyone share some insight from their experience with this?
Mine never changed from "submitted" even after I was admitted.

Interesting.

Thanks for the reply! I guess I should stop obsessively checking it.

Did I miss something? All mine says is:

Application Status for Alex P.
If you need to contact us regarding your application, provide your name and this reference number: 113726727.
And then it gives me a place to verify my address, upload additional materials, and preview application proof.

That's AdCom talk for "no update". If there is one, it will be posted right above the table towards the end, under "Recent Activity". That's where I found my status changes for other Us.

Applied on 10/6 RD.

Their website says don't expect much news for RD candidates prior to 12/1 but it is worded in a way that will put interviews and decisions to January. Looking at the # of posts from RD candidates who submitted as early as September, I wonder if the backlog is enough to not hear back till December at all.

Personally, since I am re-applicant this year, even though not to Columbia, I don't mind the wait. Last year I spent so much time speculating and trying to figure out what will happen, that nothing went the way it was suppose to. I got interview invites crazy late at places, and got invites crazy early at some.

I know waiting is hard, but there is no method to this madness.

My two cents :)

Seems possible. For what its worth I put my RD application in 29 August before all my R1 applications and haven't heard back even though it has been a bit longer than 6 weeks. I think RD will start hearing back mid-late november at the earliest, but who knows!
