Hi everyone! I have offers from 3 business schools – Columbia (Zero scholarship), Stern (Zero scholarship) and Cornell (60k scholarship). I have decided to join Columbia but was a bit unsure whether I should try to negotiate once with them on the scholarship, using the Cornell offer. Initially, I thought there is nothing much to lose but later read carefully CBS’s instruction on their portal: “Fundings have been released and are final”. Their firm tone and clear instructions make me wonder whether any scholarship negotiation might offend them/make them rescind offer. Would appreciate any feedback or thoughts or advice for me. Again, my key priority is that I don’t want to jeopardize my CBS offer but can certainly use some scholarship money hence a bit confused.

I don’t think they will rescind the offer either. But in most cases - to be successful with scholarship appeal, you need to show scholarship from peer schools. Cornell’s offer would not mean much to them.

Hey @sgtom ! Congratulations on all the successful admits, great job! As CBS is a higher ranked school than Cornell so we dont think they will budge. Also, considering their firm tone as you mentioned, you can skip asking them again. Good luck!

satyam107227, I connected when I had an intro from a connection. No luck with Hermes society (i.e. current students) https://apply.gsb.columbia.edu/portal/contact-students

Hi Everyone! Compliments of the season!
For those who have submitted their R2 applications or those that got admitted in R1, please how did you navigate the short essay questions (50 characters)
Are we repeating what we stated as “our immediate post MBA goals” (essay 1) in the prompt for “ how you plan to spend the summer after the first year of the MBA” (essay 2)

Would be grateful if I can get an answer. Thanks!

No trick to it imo. Just 1-2 sentences about the sector, type of roles and examples of employers

Hi all, regarding the financing session in application form. Do I need to make sure the financial gap is 0?

Hey @sbasu12! You can list hobbies that matter most or highlight skills like leadership, teamwork, or creativity. Focus on those that reflect your personality and align with your MBA goals. Good luck!
