I believe it’s ok , GMAT is just an aspect. You can work on other parts of application. If you feel that your application is not competitive enough within your demographic area, then strive for higher GMAT

I think getting notified of "further evaluation" on Nov 20 will be somewhat = waitlist without interview

according to what appears on the website, today is in fact the last day to expect to receive an invitation for an interview - as there has been very little movement on the forums in the last few days, I don’t believe that a new batch of invitations will be sent today - but that’s totally my guess! but I would have hopes until the end of today!

one thing that wasn’t clear to me: whoever didn’t receive the interview invitation today will receive a "further evaluation" or "release" update today? or will all final decisions come out mid-december?

Yeah from their website it's not exactly clear:

"If you are not invited to interview by November 20, 2023 you will be notified of one of two outcomes: further evaluation or release. Selection for further evaluation is a good thing as this indicates the admissions committee has identified key strengths in your application and requires additional time to review your candidacy. Those who receive this notification will receive additional instructions at that time. Applicants that are invited to interview will receive a final outcome within the final decision release in mid-December."

The statement doesn't explicitly say you will be notified ON November 20, rather it says if not invited by that day, you will *at some point* be notified of the two outcomes. It is unclear!

Ah I did not think about it at all.

Was jus assuming if they are not considering for acceptance, they will announce decision on same day.

It looks like someone posted on Clear Admit that they were rejected. It appears they saw on their portal.

I got this

Thank you for submitting an application to Columbia Business School. Your application has been selected for further evaluation as part of our Round 2 applicant pool. This means that the Committee has identified key strengths in your application and requires additional time to review your candidacy. Note that this is different from being placed on the waitlist and your application will now follow our Round 2 application timeline. Should you be selected for an interview, we anticipate interview invitations will be released in mid-February. Final decisions will be released no later than the end of March. If you choose to remain under consideration, you can expect to receive an update on this timeline around mid-January.

Definitely beats a rejection. I would argue that it is also better than a waitlist.
