Thank you! Did you submit on the Jan 9 deadline? I submitted on the Jan 5 Consortium deadline, which may (or may not) also have something to do with it coming in a little earlier.

Invited to interview.

Applied on 1/9

Exciting. Care to share a bit of your profile? Based on past interview invites and conversations with AdCom this cycle, folks seems to be expecting invites towards the end of the month continuing into February. Regardless, well done.

Thanks!

3.6 GPA, 40 months WE, 160V/155Q GRE (retaking), UVA alum

does anyone know what percentage of interviewees are admitted/if they give preference to alums?

I've read that because Darden attracts such great candidates, the adcom realizes that students will have their choice of b-schools (and b-school locations). They want to ensure that admitted applicants have Darden at the top of their list, and If you've already studied at UVa, it's less of a hard sell. I've also read they really like when applicants visit campus and get to know the city, so if all of that is true, then yes, I'd say in a way alumni do have a sort of "preferred" status.

Understandably so. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Just patiently waiting now.

I wonder if there is a 'method to the madness' in regards to their rolling interview invite process...

Last year Darden was not super kind to Indians. I emailed them for feedback and I was told to look out for the notification on their blog/website. Honestly, I did not feel too good about that and it seemed very informal. However, I have heard really good stuff about Darden's feedback process.

Who all are in the Darden boat?
I had a client who is Indian and also was dinged from Darden back in 2015 and took advantage of the feedback process. I think that he felt they treated him fairly and everything like that but also not particularly helpful. it sounded kind of like they were throwing in a lot of stuff. I guess I honestly think that if they were correct about everything he wouldn't have gotten into Ross and NYU.

Congrats to everybody receiving an invite to interview at Darden this past week. I think a lot of us were surprised that they were sent so quickly in comparison to past years.

To those of us in Round 2 still waiting, do we think there are still additional interview invites that will be sent? It appears last year that they were sent out to be at the end of January.

Just checked the decision tracker entries of last 2 years. It appears that applicants were getting invites until last week of February, though majority of the invites had been out by the first half of Feb. Considering they started early this time can we expect to get majority of the invites latest by 15th of Feb?
