I applied in R1, and from my experience, Darden started to call from the day before (in the afternoon) to the following day. The portal updated around 11:30 AM on the decision day. However, do not lose hope if no calls come in. I did not receive any call or email (no voicemail either), but I saw my admit decision from the portal (I contacted Adcom later, and they told me there might be an error).

All the best to everyone who’s waiting for a decision! Judging by EA & R1 results, Adcom members start calling/sending emails the day before the decision date right upto the morning of the decision date. Domestic candidates generally get a phone call, and International candidates get an email asking to schedule a Zoom call.
