So I have received an invite to interview and this was received yesterday.

This invite, while separate, I think was a result of the fact that I am going to the Jefferson Scholarship selection weekend in Nov. I.E. I think that the invite came a lot earlier than others given that I needed to schedule it to work with my Jefferson Scholars selection event, if that makes sense...

In my opinion, the early invite wasn't because you had already received a scholarship invite, it's probably cos you're one of the top candidates in the pool (which explains the scholarship invite as well). In my observation, the extraordinary candidates in a schools application pool get interview invites earlier than the rest (maybe cos they really really want you?)

Just an observation: Every school talks about GMAT being only one piece of the application, but whenever the invites start trickling in, it's always folks with 730+ who get the first invites. #inquisitive

I saw the same pattern as you, and then I got my invite. I also have a 720. Lower quant and higher verbal though.

Question, it is a good idea to catch a flight out of Charlottesville at1:40 pm on interview day? Will that be too tight?

What time is your interview at? Generally at small airports security is pretty fast, but you will board at 1:10 and probably want to be at the airport by 12:45. [source: I fly ~75 times a year]

I'm not intimately familiar with the interview schedule, but I know if you wanted to do campus tours, their example schedules go until about 2:30 (according to their sample visit day schedules), and 29 (the road that goes out to the airport) can get pretty backed up with traffic around lunch time. Probably would still only take half an hour to get to the airport in the worst of conditions since you don't really have to drive through Charlottesville, but you'll have to make it through security and such.

I get to sometimes work at the GE IP office that is just down the road from the airport, but I stay near the downtown mall and navigating through the heart of CVille during rush hour can be pretty tedious.
