yup, i guess....all those who got interview invites on the deadline were supposed to finish their off-campus interviews before jan 14...and on campus dates were 14 and 15 (i think)... so that would mean that everyone is done with their interviews and now its just the nail bite to the finish (31 jan)...

Question, if RD2 folks don't get an interview invite on February 5 (provided they stick to their deadline), that basically means ding/WL right?

I'm a current student at Fuqua. You will be notified of your status (interview, WL, ding, etc.) by the school on or around 2/5. Do not assume that a lack of communication indicates a certain outcome.

If you are awaiting whether you have been admitted. A bunch of Fuqua students and staff all get together and try to call all of our admitted students on the decision day(s)--occasionally international admits may not be called because of extreme time zone differences but will still be emailed and shipped an admissions packet ASAP.

So we won't hear anything either way before the published decision day? It looks like admitted students were called a day or two before the published decision deadline in previous years/cycles and a current student I spoke with over the weekend thought we might hear something before 1/31/11. Is this not correct? I had hoped calls would begin on Friday, January 28th.

Fuqua and Durham were great. I had a great trip this past weekend.

I cannot predict exactly people will be notified. It is based on when application review is completed, though you ought to expect it to be on or very close to the deadline. What my posting was meant to clarify is that Fuqua will contact you via email and/or phone to notify you of your application outcome. We know this decision is very important to you, just as it is for us. We can't be a student-centered program and treat applicants poorly.

Fuqua has a certain day (for each round) in which interviews invitations are sent.

Although we got this on the email interview status notification:

If you have been waitlisted or have not been invited, please note that this is not a final decision on your application. The interview invitation is highly selective. It is possible that you would be invited to interview at a later stage in this round or in future rounds. If your interview status should change, our office will notify you directly.

Then u dont need to worry about yr interview decision. You'll have to wait for your final decision only.

By the way, I checked last years forums and it seems that the adcom seems to have an inclination towards releasing the results (final decisions) on friday. In the past years, if the decision deadline was on a friday, then the results were released on that day, but if the decision deadline was on any other day, then the decisions were released on a friday preceeding that day. I hope this stands true for this year, coz that means we might expect to hear from them by the 28th!!

We received our admits on the decision date between 11:00AM & 12:00PM. The email basically just said "Check your application status page" and when we signed in there was a link to inform us whether we were admitted or not. A call came about a week later from our interviewers and those who got merit scholarships heard via phone call within a week. There really hasn't been a next step. We got a packet with a thumb drive full of information for incoming students and we got access to the admitted students web page which has similar information as the thumb drive but says "check in regularly for changes." Nothing has changed on the website since I first logged in and I have a feeling that nothing will until all students have been admitted. I read somewhere (I think on the thumb drive) that we should begin collecting our immunization and vaccination reports because that whole process can take months so I've been working on that. Other than that, I'm just checking in on the website once a week and reading this blog, sympathizing with everyone that's waiting (but glad I'm not in that position anymore....). Let me know if you have any more questions, but since I've heard about Duke's decision, there hasn't been much exiting news from Duke.

Oh and we'll eventually get a first-year mentor but I haven't been assigned mine yet. Hopefully this helps answer some questions. Good luck everyone.

i rem reading somewhere that they do call as many candidates as they can, but only on the decision date. No earlier than that. Internationals usually only get the email due to the time difference.

thanks for the info MBA. That really clears a lot of things up... By the way, just wondering out of curiosity, do u guys have an official google group or any other closed social group?? If so, then what do you think of the diversity of the admitted candidates so far and how active is yr group??
