I had my interview at Duke this weekend and was really impressed with everyone I met and how willing the students were to talk to you and answer any questions you had. Fuqua definitely made me feel welcomed. As for the interview, they pretty much asked the standard questions, it was more of a relaxed conversation...think it went well!

I'm sure glad y'all visited. Those buffalo wings were a welcomed departure from some of the other Fuqua Friday dishes ;-)

Those wings looked good, but I avoided them like the plague. Buffalo wings are usually a bad idea when you're wearing a suit and trying to make a good impression.

Based on last years numbers, it looks like 53% of all applicants got an interview. Considering the 25% admittance rate, that would mean that once you are extended an interview invitation, you stand a 47% chance of admission. (That could be a GMAT problem!)
Hope that helps, good luck!

Ok, it could be true if yield is 100%. However, yield is lower.

Actually yield isn't relevant when you are just comparing admit percentage to interview percentage. Matriculation doesn't factor into either of the two percentages being compared.

yep! but there is a problem with " 53% of all got an interview "..coz this includes those who did their interview in Open interview session ... I need the % of admits from interview by invitation only ... so that should be higher than 47%.

Thanks for your help, but we need to refine this data... a bit :)
good point...

There are several (2 or 3) 2-week sessions throughout the learning year. It really depends on actual students. Undoubtedly, the workload is very high, thus this option is for very dedicated people (or business owners).

Question, if RD2 folks don't get an interview invite on February 5 (provided they stick to their deadline), that basically means ding/WL right?

I'm a current student at Fuqua. You will be notified of your status (interview, WL, ding, etc.) by the school on or around 2/5. Do not assume that a lack of communication indicates a certain outcome.

If you are awaiting whether you have been admitted. A bunch of Fuqua students and staff all get together and try to call all of our admitted students on the decision day(s)--occasionally international admits may not be called because of extreme time zone differences but will still be emailed and shipped an admissions packet ASAP.

Thanks for the info Fingers.

So we won't hear anything either way before the published decision day? It looks like admitted students were called a day or two before the published decision deadline in previous years/cycles and a current student I spoke with over the weekend thought we might hear something before 1/31/11. Is this not correct? I had hoped calls would begin on Friday, January 28th.

Fuqua and Durham were great. I had a great trip this past weekend.

I applied a day before the R2 deadline and haven't received a confirmation e-mail yet either. I believe they said the e-mails would go out within three weeks
