I totally feel you! HSM program is so strong that anyone interested would almost feel compelled to apply. competition must be very high for that 70 or 80 seats in that class. Good luck with rest of your schools.

Thanks gmatspider. Good luck to you too! Looking at your profile, you and I have a similar background, including GMAT scores. I worked in Minneapolis for my WE1 and now I'm in high-tech. Saw that you got dinged at Fuqua too.

Good luck at Kellogg. That's a good healthcare program too.

Can a low gmat score come back to bite you even if you nail the interview? I've been invited, but not sure if I should start cramming for a retake.

Does anyone know if there is an advantage of interviewing on Campus vs. through an alum? (Don't 2nd year students conduct ALL the interviews on campus
Additionally, has anyone interviewed/is planning on interviewing in New York?
Thanks!

I think that's going to be hard to judge. If I were you, I'd not worry about re-taking GMAT, but focus all of my attention on the interview itself. Perhaps a kickass interview will outweigh a lower GMAT. 8-)

This was my initial thought, but not everyone can be accepted. It can't all just be about fit post interview. Bakfed is probably right though. Time to stop worrying about the gmat and just focus on the interview.

I heard news that I received a scholarship today, but it was one specific to my background (and that I had to apply to)

I was e-mailed today by a member of adcom about some positive news and then called her back. She mentioned a merit scholarship for me and added that I would find more info in the admit package. Looks like scholarship decisions have just been given.

You would not have been given an interview if they thought your GMAT score was too low. I have a friend who got into Stanford GSB with a 650. I have another friend who got into Wharton, Columbia, and Chicago with a 650. I'm guessing they nailed their interviews :-)

AdCom obviously saw some strengths in your profile/ essays. Since it appears that is what they are interested in, I would focus on effectively communicating those strengths in your interview. Regarding the GMAT, my only suggestion is to be prepared to address your GMAT if it comes up in the interview.

Good luck!

Yeah, Fuqua probably wasn't a good backup unless you're something like a bonafide former NBA player (i.e. Pat Garrity, saw him at the place where he interned last summer lol), which at the same time would make applying to Fuqua needless. I think all schools would like to see both recommendations as coming from superiors though. Though I doubt that killed you. Probably a mixture of a common profile with quantifiable stats (GPA/GMAT etc.) that were good but not breathtaking.

I used a current supervisor and a former coworker for my recommenders and was accepted, sometimes I think that can work in your favor because it gives them two different perspectives, one from someone in a position to evaluate your work and one from someone who has worked with you on a team. I figured especially at a school like Fuqua, where teamwork is so important, it would be beneficial to include a peer recommender.

Just what was in the admissions letter...i.e. that if awarded a scholarship, we'd be contacted within two weeks (which means by a week from today).

Does anyone know when R1 admits will receive their admissions letter and jump drive? I assume it should arrive early this week, since we had until last Thursday to update our contact info.
