Thank you. Now my condition is: Two days ago, I contacted the School Ambassador for Admissions, who is a second-year student and informed me the interview details. I asked the ambassador whether he could provide me my interviewer's email address, so that I can contact her in advance. The ambassador replied that my interviewer had already had my resume for interview, and didn't mention her email address...

Thanks guys, just wanted to make sure. The interviewer hasn't contacted me, so I intend to write the first email myself. So proposing dates that work for me even if it's after a week would considered Ok, right?
Ya it is completely acceptable to propose dates in your first email. Also, dont wait for the email from your interviewer, just go ahead and email him...

its perfectly alright if u have some important committments and you cant interview on certain dates. But make sure u give enough options to the interviewer so that you can easily work out a mutually acceptable date.

Did the admissions ambassador tell you the student would be in contact with you to schedule the interview? If so, then you should just wait for the student to contact you. I would not really worry as much about a student interview since it's going to be a very structured process in comparison with the alumni process.

Does anyone know if you had your interview during the early interview dates before R1, does the school contact you to let you know if you would have been interviewed? Or are you just left waiting until the decision date with no idea if you are being considered or not. This seems very frustrating, because if you go with a regular interview and they invite you, you know they are interested. If you do the early interview and don't hear anything either way, you have no way of gauging their interest. Any insight on this would be much appreciated!

That is so unfair!! Oh well. Let the waiting begin.... Ugh.

While you might feel it's unfair (and I was in the same boat from October 16 till December 3), you're actually advantaged. Maybe they *wouldn't* have interviewed you based on your application alone; but because you did the self-initiated interview, and if you had a really successful interview, you could be offered admission based on your total package!

Phew, I was wondering the same thing having self-initiated for Duke! I interviewed in late Oct for R2 application and felt good then, but the delay and the sort of status quo is scary!

Hi Folks,
Does anyone know how Duke treats a reco letter being submitted a couple days after the Round 2 deadline? Will my app still be in round 2 or will it get bumped to round 3? Looks like one of my recommenders cant make it on time :(

Do we need to carry anything apart from resume? Do we need to carry transcripts?

No. You only need the resume for interview.

I was wondering about interview invites for R1 applicants. I see that some R1 folks have received invites, but I haven't heard anything yet. Does it mean a ding at this stage and move on?

You should have heard something on 17 December. If you haven't, check your application status.

I just submitted my application. It's the first one I finished. I'm super excited. Now I have to get back to finishing the other 4.

Good luck everybody! Maybe I'll see you down in NC next year.

well, the last date for interview invites for r1 was dec 17....if u havent got an invite yet, then yr chances for adm are pretty low i believe...its best to move on....you may still get an interview invite or wait list decision in the end though...so keep your fingers crossed, but do start looking elsewhere also....

Did anyone get interviewed by Mr.? How was the experience?

I'd be a bit wary of posting personal information such as a person's name online.

Call/email the admissions committee and let them know. From what I hear from most other schools' admissions committees, they're pretty lenient about recommendation letters being a couple days late. (I'd advise fewer than 7 days late though!)

Also, you can submit your application and pay the application fee before the two recommendation letters have been submitted.
