Are there any current students or alums here? I have some few questions that I want to ask over the phone or through email, but I am having a difficult time looking for Fuqua students ever since the information session here in Los Angeles.

Can I get a PM please, if there are any?

Many thanks!!! =)

Awesome event! Thanks for the information, Asimov. But I don't see a stop in Korea, Japan or China. Is that because of the alunmi network unestablished in entrepreneurship in the area above?

I was told by a "reliable" source that some applicants have already heard from Fuqua (in the negative). Is this true? Any knowledge about this on the forum?

Has anyone further established whether I should be freaking out in two days or in five? EA decisions on Friday or Monday?

Not that I'm not stressing out too, but I'm trying to convince myself that the decisions won't be out until Monday. At least if they email us on Friday, it will be a welcome surprise.

Good luck! We have similar stats so I am rooting for you! :)

I'm counting days as well. Expecting the decisions to come out on Monday but hoping that they come out on Friday. Good luck to all EA round applicants.

The wait is killing me.. I have conducted myself well over the duration of this waiting game (That's what i would have me believe, my wife/friends may have a different opinion)...but these last few days before the EA decision are the hardest..can't concentrate at work either...plus there is this new dimension of whether to expect something this Friday or wait till Monday...Some very nervy days in my not so distant future..Good luck to all waiting for the EA results..

Are there any applicants/current students/alumni out there who are "internationally challenged?" By internationally challenged, I mean, you have not studied abroad, you have not been overseas, you simply grew up, went to school, and worked in the US?

I fall into this bucket and am wondering how disadvantaged I am applying to Fuqua as a result (I'm fully aware of how global Fuqua is). I am up to speed on international current events as they directly affect my line of work, and I do feel that I can convey a thoughtful global perspective in my essays, but I have not experienced foreign cultures firsthand. Thoughts?

I almost just had a heart attack. At 11:58 a.m. EST, I received an email with the subject "The Duke MBA - Early Action Notification" and the below letter.

Quote:
The Duke MBA - Early Action

Dear XXXX:

Thank you for your interest in The Duke MBA, and we are pleased to have received your application for our Early Action decision round.

We want to remind you that the Early Action decision round is designed for individuals who know that The Duke MBA is the best program for them. As stated in the application instructions, admissions decisions made in Early Action are binding, which means that if admitted, you will attend The Fuqua School of Business and you will withdraw any other applications you may have submitted to other business schools. To review the Early Action Certification that you signed along with your application, please click here.

If you submitted your Early Action application and were not aware of the binding nature of the round, you may elect to move your application to Round 1 consideration without penalty. Round 1 applications will be reviewed after Early Action applications, and decisions will be released on February 1, 2012. To move your application to Round 1, please send an email to [email protected] by Sunday, December 4, 2011.

For your application to remain in Early Action, no further action is required at this time.

Thank you again for your interest and application. We are excited to know of your commitment to The Duke MBA and look forward to getting to know you through your application.

Best regards,

The Office of Admissions
Duke University: The Fuqua School of Business
Office: + 1.919.660.7705
Fax: + 1.919.681.8026
[email protected]

In any case, this email confirms that the decisions won't be released until Monday, 12/5. Otherwise, they wouldn't set a deadline of Sunday, 12/4, for the EA applicants to move their application to R1.

The email scared the heck out of me too. So, it sounds like we won't hear the decision before Monday given that they are giving EA applicants till Sunday to move their applications to Round 1.

Do they call accepted applicants or everyone just receives an email with the decision notification? Does anyone know?

Not really sure what to think about that email, the last year the decision notification date was on a Monday, people heard on the Friday before, but there was no mention of a similar email on the message board for that year.

I still feel on the hook...
