manbear677 actually thats the logic I believe in deep inside too. Its just that I tend to assume the worst in pressure situations like this. Anyways, thanks for putting my mind at ease. I'll just go get drunk or something so that I don't have a heart attack or a seizure

I have heard from an alumni that Fuqua interviews more people (above 50% of the applicants) then is more selective at the interview stage (he used Ross as a contrast, a school that's known to interview less but has high acceptance rate post interview, I heard it's as high as 70%)

Nothing yet.........at least everyone isnt posting they got an invite and im left out :(

I know, right? At least until the invites are announced I have hopes. I was reading through November posts in this thread, and it seems as if, mostly people with 750+ GMAT were invited. Or may be it was just a coincidence. I shouldn't speculate sensational theories like these, but can't help myself either

If i get invited to Fuqua interview, it will be a great confidence booster for the next 1.5 month until the decisions are out for all my 8 schools.

This is deeply troubling. Wish I had the remote from 'Click' and I could just fast forward to 2 PM EST. I hate myself for making the countdown too

You've gotta keep in mind that the folks who are active on this forum and who take great pleasure in updating their applicant status on GMAT Club are probably NOT representative of the majority of folks who apply. Just because mostly 750+ scorers reported an invite doesn't mean that sub 750 folks didn't (or won't) get invited.

Just look at the class profile information for Fuqua. They aren't publishing average GMAT this year, but from Poets and Quants, it looks like their average GMAT for Class of 2015 was 694. Fuqua's website states that the 80% GMAT range for the Class of 2016 is 640-750.....750 is the very upper limit of the vast majority of that class.

And let's not forget....that data is all for ADMITTED students. We are (more or less) competing against each other as APPLICANTS, and I'm sure the GMAT data for applicants is lower than that of admitted students.

Anyways, this is the logic I use to convince myself I've got a shot. Maybe it's dumb, maybe it's incorrect. But it works for me.

I agree with the overall sentiment.

Scores aren't everything. I believe somewhere on the internet (possibly even buried on gmatclub) there is an analysis of admission rate vs test score. If you scored in the mid 500's you are probably going to have a rough time, but for a reasonable test score (take that 80% range as a good base, keeping in mind that ~10% of admits scored lower than 640) you have a fighting chance to get in. You might need the rest of your application to be slightly stronger, but saying you need a 750 to get an interview invite is just depressing.

From the other side of the argument, a 750 doesn't guarantee anything. I got a 750 and didn't even get an interview at either Darden or Ross. They really do take a look at your application as a whole.

tl;dr: We'll find out soon enough about interviews. Don't fret until you have been officially denied.

ThePot I hear ya. Unfortunately the time zone on my end doesn't make booze feasible for me...I'm on the east coast, so unless I want to get plastered at work, I'll have to stay sober for the both of us. I'm sure you'll get some good news today.
I have to admit, I got invited to interview for 3 schools last week (including my top choice) so that has significantly boosted my confidence for today, so I'm trying to spread the love.

I'm on the east coast, too, so I'll join you in staying sober as time drags on.

I'm drinking some chai but somehow it's not quite making time go faster....

This is a new information for me. At least it's a good news. I applied to both Ross and Fuqua, and I have received an interview invitation from Ross. By learning what you mentioned, I'm now less nervous and more confident. Thanks for the news!

Manbear (nice name) I noticed in the HBS thread that you received an invite... well done!! I'm so pleased for you.

Maybe it helped to "reboot" it after many hours of anxiety?
