Will Duke receive more or fewer MBA applications this year compared to last year, given growing concerns about visa restrictions and the difficulty of finding jobs?

For the Class of 2027, the share of international students fell to 35%, down from 41% last year—its lowest level in six years. At the same time, the admit rate rose to 21%, even with more applications submitted. One possible explanation is that schools admitted a larger share of domestic students, and yielding them may have been harder if top U.S. programs collectively dug deeper into the U.S. applicant pool this year. Whether that holds true will become clearer over time.

For the last 3-5 years, everyone expected to finally have the numbers subside. That has not happened per se, though the growth for most was not astronomical.... looking at how it has been it may continue to hold strong, in part not because many people are applying but because people are applying to more and more schools. The fact that today is easy to find a job would probably push more people NOT to get an MBA and similarly vice versa. When market is good, fewer people apply usually.
