There probably won’t be any International applicants it doesn’t make sense for them to apply, but its a fantastic time to apply if ur from the U.S - good luck folks!
There will always be international applicants with the « apply first and see later » philosophy, but less international applicants than before nonetheless.

But at the end of the day, the impact for applicants will be minimal. There are not so many people who will choose the “HBS or bust” approach in their application journey

Not necessarily. A lot of admission consultants actually recommend international students to give it a shot now, since they think fewer will apply overall.

If every international student adapt that mindset, maybe we won’t see a big difference in international applications 🤷‍♂️ But who knows

Yeah you’d have to be mad to put all your 🪺 in one 🧺 (HBS) given the situation 😂

International perspective is important for the case method, it would be cool if Harvard gave a deferred option for Internationals (I haven’t hired consultants, this is just my opinion haha)

Yeah, for sure! That being said, I am going for the 2+2 deferral program, so it is definitely more risky with the regular MBA application process

Exactly, I think we won’t see an enormous difference in international application volume, but maybe a decrease in application quality :
- The very best profiles will apply to HBS nonetheless but with less dedication since they have other viable options (Stanford, Wharton...)
- The other profiles will hesitate : HBS application is very time consuming, and it could be fruitless at the end of the journey, so many will not apply but most will apply with again less focus and dedication
- The “outsiders” will massively apply because they will think “fewer internationals will apply this year” so it is my chance

Hey everyone, jumping into the thread with so much excitement! I’m prepping my Harvard app for the 2026 intake too, and I’d love to connect with fellow applicants. Between perfecting my essays, prepping interviews, and obviously sorting logistics like securing a work visa, this journey is intense but so rewarding. Would be awesome to get some tips on how you’re tackling the visa process post-graduation, especially for international students. And if anyone’s got advice on balancing application prep with day-to-day life (or just wants to vent over coffee), count me in! Good luck all!

Quick question: Do B-schools differentiate between the GMAT taken online (at home) vs in-person (test center)? Curious if it affects admissions in any way.

So, Few schools like ISB doesn’t accept the at-home test scores apparently. Could be the case with few more US MBAs.
