Your academic profile is in a good place. An 8.18 from BITS Pilani in Computer Science already signals strong fundamentals, and your 775 on the standard GMAT is exceptional. It shows you're more than ready for the academic rigor of an M7 program. What could strengthen this further is reflecting on how you’ve gone beyond the classroom, maybe through teaching, side projects, or interdisciplinary interests that show curiosity and initiative.
Professionally, spending close to five years at Microsoft India gives you a strong platform. You’ve likely developed solid technical depth and worked in high-stakes environments. What will really set you apart now is how you frame your growth. Were there moments you led without a title? Times you influenced product decisions or solved real business pain points? These stories, if positioned thoughtfully, can be powerful. Admissions committees want to see not just where you’ve worked but how you’ve grown and how that maps to your post-MBA goals.
Extracurriculars seem light, but that’s something you can still work on. It doesn’t need to be flashy. Mentoring, volunteering, or leading a small initiative in your community or workplace can show drive and authenticity. M7 schools look for well-roundedness, and this is one area where you can quietly differentiate yourself.
Overall, you're in a strong place. With some intentional leadership framing and personal depth, your profile can absolutely resonate with M7 programs.

Hello, would like to understand my chances at an M7 admit. I'm a male software engineer in India.
Undergrad - Bits Pilani, Computer Science in India. GPA 8.18/10
Work experience - working at Microsoft India as a software engineer since 2021.
Will be around 5 years during 2026 intake.
GMAT - 675 attempt 1, 775 attempt 2.
I had some minor extracurricular activities in college, but nothing too special.
I was not expecting a GMAT score this high, so had only planned for an MBA in India (ISB). But now I would like to understand if I stand a chance at the M7.
