Anyone have some insights on if R1 or R2 applicants have an edge? I’ve been lead to believe timing doesn’t matter just the strength of your app, but if there’s less spots available during round two then 😬😬

Is it true that top schools often fast track admits (for example converting from a waitlist) if the candidate gets other admits?

Asking this to understand if I should apply to some safer schools even though I’m not fully certain I’ll join them just so that I can increase my chances of an M7 admit.

Hi, it’s clear that you’ve done some excellent research to gather this information, most students don’t usually go this deep. While what you’ve said is true for some schools, it really depends on the quality of the school that has admitted you versus the quality of the school where you are waitlisted.

For example, if you have an admit from Texas A&M but are waitlisted at NYU, the chances of NYU fast‐tracking your admission are quite low because there is a significant difference in the prestige, academic standing, and overall reputation of the two schools.

Applying to a safety school with the hope that it might push your dream or target schools to admit you can sometimes work as a strategy, but it’s not guaranteed. If you’d like a specific analysis of your own profile and advice on which schools should be considered your safety options and which should be your aspiration schools, please feel free to write to us. Main Ques - How much score should I be targeting in GMAT FE as a safe zone?

Profile Evaluation:
Personal Info -
23 year old male, family business background of import & distribution

Academics -
94.8% in 10th, 96.6% in 12th (PCM), 8.9 CGPA (BSc CS hons - SSCBS, DU)

Extra-curriculars -
- Cultural head in school
- Organized, as President, a 800+ person offline hackathon (a 36 hr overnight event), raising 7 lacs cash sponsorship
- Actively judged and mentored in national level hackathons
- Been a part of street play club, did around 10 performances

Work Exp -
Worked as an EIR at Poshn, for the last 2 years, a profitable and pre-series-A funded Agri-fintech startup, built a business category of 25 Cr MRR in commodities and food-processing sector, contributing to 30% of company’s revenue, worked along with NBFCs

Side Hustle - broker for Web Dev, Marketing freelancers
