Good luck to all those who are going to be applying to HBS's 2+2 program this year. Here is our profile of the program:

Harvard Business School 2+2

Perhaps the most famous of the deferred admission MBA programs is Harvard’s 2+2, established by its famous former director Lee Leopold. While college seniors from any academic background are eligible to apply, some preference will be given to high potential individuals on paths that aren't as well established in leading to graduate business school, including applicants:

  • Planning to work in an operating company (tech, manufacturing, consumer goods, retail, industrials, etc.)
  • From a lower socio-economic background (first generation in college, lower-income family background, less family exposure to graduate school)
  • Going into a technically demanding role
  • Pursuing entrepreneurship

Students in college or graduate programs (attended directly after college, but not PhD programs, law school or medical school) can apply and defer attending the 2-year MBA program for between 2 and 4 years. To be considered for admission to the 2+2 Program Class of 2024 (entering fall 2022), you must graduate from your program between October 1, 2019 and September 30, 2020. 2+2 applicants pay $100 on the application fee compared to $250 for regular applicants. 2+2 applications have only one deadline: June 1, 2020.

You might also want to apply to these other deferred programs:

  • Stanford GSB Deferred Enrollment
  • Wharton Moelis Advance Access Program
  • Chicago Booth Scholars Program
  • MIT Sloan MBA Early Admission
  • Yale SOM Silver Scholars Program
  • Columbia Business School Deferred Enrollment Program
  • Kellogg Future Leaders
  • Berkeley Haas Accelerated Access
  • Darden Future Year Scholars Program

Hi,

I plan to apply for class of 2025, but nice to meeting y'all.

Me too!!! Studying for my GMAT right now. Have you taken it already? I've been slacking forever because I was so busy with work and school, but somehow this entire Covid thing has relaxed my school related stress and I have a bit extra time to spend on studying. Silver linings

Has anyone put together a list of deadlines for these programs? From what I understand some schools have different deadlines compared to regular applications?

Good luck to everyone who got a 2+2 interview invitation! I wanted to pass on some tips on what not to wear:

Whether it is Zoom, Vast, WebEx, Skype, Facetime, or GotoMeeting, video conferencing is the name of the game for business meetings, jobs interviews and MBA admissions interviews, at least until the COVID-19 pandemic subsides. People are having to grapple with the balance to strike between the business formal of the in-person workplace and pajamas at home.

For some reason I keep getting ads for lightly pattered shirts like the one below. Here's why they are a trap!

In a word: Moiré. Moiré occurs when repetitive details in a photograph that exceed the sensor resolution. When wearing patterned fabrics such as stripes, dots, checks and the like, the camera can produce a strange-looking wavy pattern that is very distracting to the viewer. When your goal is to project a professional image to the admissions committee, the last thing you want are thinks like your clothes detracting from your presentation and undermining your confidence.

What to wear?
We recommend solid color fabrics whenever possible. They always look professional, they match one another other, and they avoid weird camera distortions such as moiré. You can’t go wrong with a light colored shirt, dark colored jacket, and (for men) a solid colored tie. You’ll want to keep distracting jewelry to a minimum, but otherwise you should look the same way over Zoom as you would during an interview in person.

I did not get an email for this. I sent my official scores to them a month and a half ago, though. Should be easy to confirm, right?
