It's not like we're counting or anything!

I guess this is what happens when a school releases all the decisions on the same day. The thread goes dead for a while!

16 days left...

15 if they do the 1-day surprise like they did for the big batch of interview invites.

A little while after the R1 deadline they sent an info email stating when they would start sending interview invites. They then sent the vast majority of them on the day prior to the day they said they would start sending them, which was almost exactly a month after the R1 deadline.

It's pretty impressive that they read all or almost all the apps in less than a month!

Agreed.

I wonder if they take a little longer in R2 since for the first three weeks they're still deciding on the R1 people.

Here are some exact dates for ya:

Round 1 app deadline: October 15th
750 interview invites sent: November 11th

I guess the earliest us R2 folk can expect anything is around the last few days of January.

Good luck to all R1 applicants who will hear back in 2 weeks!

Dang, didn't even realize how soon decision-date was. Should've never visited the forum.

I have just hit the "submit' button. I must confess last time I felt such a wild mixture of excitement, anxiety and hope was when I sent a letter to the girl I was secretly in love with. I wonder what Stanford application would feel like
Good luck everyone!

Good luck.

P.S. - You sent a letter to a girl? Do people even write letters anymore? How old are you? :-D (j/k)

Ah, that was back in 1996. I have used emails ever since just like everyone else

egy
What did she say?!?

She wrote me back! Let me see if I still remember...

"Dear Hardestadt,

Congratulations! I am delighted to accept you as my boyfriend. Your admission
recognizes your outstanding record of accomplishment and your potential for
future success. Each year, I select just one from among the brightest and most
accomplished young individuals in the world. I aspire to find suitors like you who
have the highest standards of integrity and who understand that dating me is a
privilege. This offer is valid exclusively in the year 1996, and it is contingent upon
the verification of your transcript, verification of your employment history, and
a non-refundable deposit.

Sincerely,
XXX"

Not in these exact words, but something to that tune

Aha! So you're saying we should write love letters to the admissions committee members. It all makes sense now - how could I have been so blind?
