I was invited to attend the in-person assessment day in New York, but as I live in Canada, the travel would be challenging. Flying on Friday after work would mean a redeye flight (10hr), arriving at 8 a.m., with little rest beforehand. Additionally, the flight cost is around $500 USD.
Do people often opt for the virtual option after being assigned the inperson? Do you think explaining my travel challenges to the admissions committee is reasonable? IESE is my target school, but I’m concerned the lack of rest from the redeye flight would impact my performance. I also might end up showing up late, due to commuting from the airport.

Your GRE score of 315 is slightly lower. You can try to give another shot and aim for a 320+ score, which would boost your chances. That said, you can always overcome test scores with exceptional examples from your work experience or extracurriculars, and I can already get a glimpse of those examples in your profile. You should definitely use these to your advantage to make your application stand out of the pool. However, it would be great if you could share your post-mba goals. That will help us understand what you are really looking for in a B-school. For eg. If 'Impact' were your post-MBA goal, I'd strongly suggest you look into SAID (Oxford) which is a great school for people who want to use business degrees to make a real impact.

Any advice for applying for R2? Indian, male, 27. I’m preparing for GMAT currently. About to give it in a month and then start with the other processes.
