You’re a car salesman, you have been informed that the model X will have an upgrade in 6 months which will cost the same as Model X does right now. You have been told that if the company doesn’t manage to sell the current stock of Model X then they’ll be taking a huge financial hit. A family comes in to buy Model X, would you sell it to them?
Wow. what is your profile. Do you have a background in automobile industry or have you worked in sales?

Understood.. I was trying to find out if the adcom is creating customised extempore to match your work ex. I spoke to two interviewees whose extempore was linked to their overall sustainability

Previously, I believe there were no reservations in the PGPx program, but now there are. This means that only about 40-45% of the 150 seats remain for the General category, which translates to approximately 60-70 seats. In each round, around 25-35 General candidates are selected, while roughly 600-800 candidates sit for the interview in each round. For male candidates, the competition is even tougher now due to the loss of diversity points.

I disagree that 600-800 candidates sit for interviews in each round. IIMA’s annual report details everything about the PGPX admissions. Not more than 1200 applications are received in total every year. Out of which around 600 candidates interview for a particular academic year.

Hello, if I were to apply in R2 (deadline 14Oct) how late (looking for a date) can I take my GMAT so that the scores are sent to the school?
You just need a screenshot of your score. Official GMAT email or test centre copy. In our time, we could give GMAT even on the last day and still submit as we got a score copy from the test centre. However, I am unsure if the centre gives a test score copy even now. Check on GMAT official website

One of my friends interviewed and mentioned that there were over 70-80 names for that particular location in Round 1. Even if we estimate an average of 50 candidates per location each day, with 8 locations, that totals 2( Interview day) * 50 * 8 = 400 people interviewed in Round 1, and this is a conservative estimate.

I find it hard to believe that everyone who applied received an interview invitation.

Considering two factors:

Round 1 typically accounts for 25-30% of the total applications for the entire cycle.
Not everyone is called for an interview. Even if we assume a 50% interview invitation rate, which is still quite high, the numbers don’t add up.

A total of 1200 application seems significantly lower than the actual numbers, unless there’s a specific mention of this figure in a report. Could you please share the link where the 1200 number is mentioned?

Or Maybe this year number are high in R1, which is prove my assumption wrong.

’m sorry i don’t remember a lot. Anyway if a topic is done once, they take out that chit.

one of the topics I remember was around the EV Push which Indian Govt. is doing, if it is sustainable or not?

another tip around the interview, panelist won’t ask you even a single question that you might have prepared (based on the sample sized of people I had a chat with after the interview), question like why MBA, why PGPx, why IIM A, post MBA plans. The interview is really general, just back yourself as much as you can, don’t be flimsy on your opinions, they’d pressurize you to do so but back yourself no matter what.

I mean ofc prep these questions but I don’t think you’d be asked, know your CV and Essay well. The company I work for is currently based out of Singapore, they ended up asking me the capital of Singapore, how did come to existence, who built it, etc. That’s how general the interview can go.

I didn’t get even a single question from my CV or Essays, although I was expecting probing questions from my CV, as I am from marketing sector. Instead, generic questions were asked. It was an absolutely normal conversation, not like an interview. Once it was over, I was puzzled like anything, as I was expecting a grilling session!
