Hi,
Is the application window for EPGP batch 27-28 open for IIM-B?
If not, by when is it expected to update admission cycle details?

Hi abhi90962

Our read on this profile: an adcom will encounter something genuinely (positively) unusual, a Gold Medalist in Marine Engineering who shipped with NYK Lines in Tokyo, moved to a leading PSB, then pivoted to Ministry of Defence audit. Three sectors, three functions, six-plus years. That breadth is an asset, but only if it coheres into one purposeful thread.

- The career narrative is the central work. EPGP committees push hard, in essays and interview, on why each move happened. Marine-to-banking and banking-to-audit both need explanations that build toward one destination, not a list of pivots.

- GRE 322 (161+161) sits a notch below where the EPGP median typically runs; a few points upward before the deadline would help, particularly because a balanced 161+161 is not the quant-dominant read most engineering applicants carry in.

- What stands out to us is the YouTube channel with 5.2k subscribers. In a cohort that skews heavily finance and tech, someone who actively builds a teaching audience around a discipline reads distinctively well in cohort contribution discussions.

- Recommender choice is trickier here than it looks. Three domains mean no single person has seen the full picture; prioritise someone who can speak to strategic impact rather than just functional competence, and brief them precisely on what you need them to establish.

For the interview, where committees probe hard on career self-awareness, a look at how these conversations typically go is worth your time.

The raw materials are genuinely interesting, and we think making three different roles read as one intentional journey is very doable.

Hope this is helpful. Reply here or contact us directly.

For everyone targeting IIM Ahmedabad PGPX [or other PGP programs], I have documented what are probably the most unconventional ways of thinking about the Interview and the Extempore after mentoring numerous successful applicants over the years.
These are not the usual lists of "expected questions" or current affairs compilations. They will help you understand what the panel is actually trying to evaluate and how to become memorable in one of India's most selective MBA interviews.

Hope they are useful!

Website suggests that you should limit it to 600 words.
