Quick profile review for IIM B EPGP to gauge my chances:

M 31, India
Chemical Engineer + Tier 2 Indian MBA.

10th : 9.0 GPA
12th: 64.8%
Undergrad: 69.49% (seems low but among top 3 in my department - first class with distinction)
MBA: 8.27 GPA

6 years of work experience ( 2 years B2B marketing and sales in Ceramic production environment; 2 years with Cisco as a client in stakeholder training/consulting and 2 years and running in Data Analytics and AI Marketing team for Indian MNC)

Looking to pivot to strategy/operations consulting environment with a 2nd MBA

GMAT FE:655 (working on pushing further but let's consider this for now)

Extra curriculars and others: some csr activity support with the organisation, won some debate competition, was student coordinator for clubs during undergrad and Postgrad, 1st runner up in the national eSports competition organised by IMTG for their cultural fest etc, an Instagram page with 250+ posts since Covid (hobby).

Hi,

Your profile is competitive for IIM Bangalore EPGP, particularly with six years of professional experience. One of your biggest strengths is the breadth of your experience across B2B sales, consulting, and AI/data analytics, which demonstrates a strong and well-rounded career progression.
While your Class 12 score is slightly below average, your undergraduate performance, MBA CGPA, and professional achievements help offset that weakness. A GMAT FE of 655 is competitive, but improving it by another 10–20 points would further strengthen your application.
Since you already hold an MBA, it's important to clearly articulate why you're pursuing a second one and how the EPGP specifically fits into your career plans. Your application should present a compelling case for how the program will help you transition into strategy or operations consulting.

Ultimately, strong essays, thoughtful recommendations, and a coherent career narrative will have a significant impact on your chances of securing an admit.

Happy to connect if you’d like to discuss your profile in more detail.

Consider it an opportunity to sell yourself to them 🙂

Showcase everything that you have about yourself to sell to them as a great candidate (your achievements, Journey, Impacts) and tell them about your goals, why the particular IIM, why now.

The core of an SOP is the purpose meaning you will have to emphasize on your journey and how MBA is fitting into your journey. With that you are also presenting yourself as the most deserving candidate and also be humble enough to make it a point that you would be a great value add

Not needed imo, you can add directly that change in your career progression paragraph

No, I mean in your SoP, the paragraph where you'll mention your current role and job. If there is any significant change or achievement then mention it. Otherwise just update the latest status.

For example - if this year, you went to onsite and worked for an international client, mentioned that after working N years for different clients from off shore office, now working with US counterpart for the last 1 years and managing xyz of the company.

This is just example, can be polished further.. But I hope you got the idea.

Atleast you should give a direction to some development that happened in last year.

In essay styled application requirement, the re-applicant essay asks this part specifically as the school wants to know what changed that now you should be selected.

Mention such projects that show that you have taken some steps to be closer to your short term goal. That just shows efforts made by applicant.
