Thankyou for your insight. I was going through application process of a non-indian school that required clear post-mba goals in the SOP- with company names and transferable skills. Do we need not go in so much detail for IIM ABC?
To repeat, no one else in life is concerned about what you do with your life. If there was a one-one mapping that with X experience, you write you will go to Y and you will be selected, then everyone would have cracked that code. Suppose you are from CAG and you say you desire to go to Product Management, do you think you will be rejected?! Because you have no IT background? IF you thing yes, then connect to previous applicants from CAG, there are few who are working as product mangers!
Colleges have bigger outlook than nit picking on your career goals. They are asking your career goal not to check if your goal is "correct". They want to understand your thought process, and your aspirations are a clear part of that.
Rest depends on your own understanding!
