Ahhh, again someone is posting rumors without any source. I have access to preprogram, believe me, IMD is ahead of time in taking people on board, and there are still 3 rounds ahead. Various profiles all over the globe. IMD is all about what it is - a tailored approach, focused on each individual, unlike MBA factories

sorry. Here is the link showing number of application for IMD. I really don't think 327 application is an impressive number for top program. and that was last year. for this year, indications aren't motivating so far. By the way, there are TWO rounds ahead.

Seems tossing facts. You have something very special against IMD, don't you?

You are referring to Forbes ranking, where IMD is SECOND BEST ONE-YEAR PROGRAM, and you say IMD is in crisis? https://www.forbes.com/business-schools/ ... al-1-year/

"Insiders, for example, say that INSEAD accepts about 31% of its 4,000 applicants in any given year". OMG, their acceptance rate is higher than IMD's (30%), INSEAD is in crisis! Ah, wait, it's No1 MBA program, so it's ok :shock:

It's IMD who is in crisis, we forgot (and just for no reason)

Third. Yes, there are 2 rounds ahead, but in the systems I see accepted from the first 2 rounds only, and still some are pending. Accepted candidates from R3 will start appearing maybe in a month :?:

And believe me, everything is ok with class filling in.

Fourth, how do you know number of applications, when there are only 3 rounds passed? And how many applicants are globally to any other MBA programs? We will see it only in 6 months, my dear, so stop manipulating the facts.

Yeah it sort of caught me off guard a bit because based on IMD's website, typically speaking they would need 3 to 6 weeks before sending out invitations.
My assessment day is scheduled on July 1st in Lausanne.

I heard somewhere that the applications number has declined sharply this year. May be it explains the fast response giving the limited resources of IMD admission team, they are few now. Since the departure of the old team two years ago, IMD experienced tough times, last year I guess the applications number received was 320 based on Forbes, or so. The number for this year seems to be much less. IMD has to do something. It loses excellent candidates for INSEAD, LBS.

Hi Mbaoneyear, there is no statistics which IMD is publishing for students applied this year until now. So i think it is not true. Also, in all business schools there are always changes, question is that constantly the quality of students is similar or not. I think IMD and other top schools will always have to be on their feet. Are they loosing candidates to others, i doubt. I have seen candidates in other business schools and i went to IMD assessment day myself. I saw the quality of other people on the day, it was exceptional. They were coming from positions where people go after an MBA. I suggest if you want to pick school dont pick because of the adcom or other people are leaving, pick what is suitable for your age, where you want to work, what kind of experience you want to have.

I have seen candidates in other business schools and i went to IMD assessment day myself. I saw the quality of other people on the day, it was exceptional. They were coming from positions where people go after an MBA.

FROM IMD Admissions Blog: Another pinnacle is ours!

This week was amazing in terms of work load, level of
stress, meeting new people, surprises and having fun!

We start networking. Being a part of the IMD community is a
great honor, a significant responsibility and a great fun! It is very selected,
but very strong. Bonds between people are rather strong and people share a set
of similar values. I enjoyed my first networking events and learned a lot!

I start realizing the power of our career services with all
the support and learning, company presentations and preparations we get
through. When in our normal professional lives, could we have a comprehensive
feedback from our job interviewers? I used to think of myself being quite
experienced: previous job interviews, my interview with IMD during the
admission process seemed well enough. Well… now I see that there is some room for developmentJ

Then we prepared and participated in the conference “Navigating
The Future 2016”. I must say, that in my case preparation was really tough, as
we built the whole presentation in almost two days. My journey can never be
verbalized. Yes, together with my teammates Robin, Mati and Revaz we built the
storyline, split job and each did a thorough research on our topic. We knew the
main idea behind the storyline, we supported each other and worked hard. The morning
of our presentation was very nervous: all classmates in business attire, rash
steps in corridors, dry-runs. Two hours to go and a mess in my mind – what shall
I say… And then - the IMD magic. Our program director Ralf listened to our
presentation, praised our slides and retold us our story in a couple of simple
and clear sentences. All of a sudden, it finally clicked in my mind, I calmed
down and visualized it. We did our presentation, just as other eleven groups of
MBAs, in front of our classmates and senior executives, in a beautiful and
solemn conference hall. I can never express how grateful I am to Ralf for this
invaluable lesson on ingenious simplicity and grace of thinking over unfamiliar
and complex topics, on pulling yourself together at critical moments and on
power of believing in people. That moment of accomplishment, of being shoulder
to shoulder with my teammates and silent mutual support, and of trust from my superiors
gave me a grain of self-confidence and confidence in people, that I want to
nurture to grow into a leadership pearl throughout my life.

I want to praise all my classmates, who did a fantastic job
in preparing and presenting, in writing their theses and handling Q&A.
There were a few of us, who run an extra-mile in helping the MBA office to
organize the class, communicate with IT and other departments, design printing
materials and host the conference. Thank you, Kevin, Robin, Shashank, Alex,
Waqas and Hani! Thank you to all, who made this real learning, real conference
and real achievement happen!

There are lots of assessment days, sometimes twice a week. It's a continuous activity.

Yes and in fact, I think there are several days of assessment day for a single round. I had some business I needed to take care of so IMD actually informed me of an another date.

an add-on question : is it true that all the assessment days WILL be conducted within the 6 week period from the deadline date ? i.e if one applied on the 1st of June the assessment is to be conducted on or before 15th of July ? or is it flexible ?

I think the 3-6 weeks period on IMD website is more the standard period during which you hear back from them (invited or not to the assement day).... then it doesn't say the period for the assement days... then some persons need a visa to go for the assement day so I would expect there's quite a bit of time between the 1st and the last assement day for each round... (my hypothesis - no idea if true or not)

Just received a phone call inviting me to the August 16 assessment day. Admitted to INSEAD already, I will probably withdraw my application and hopefully my slot will be opened to others who are waiting for the invites.
