Took me 2-3 weeks
Did you use any admissions consultant for this? Or did you already have much clarity on a lot of things that would’ve been covered in the essays?
Just wondering if I can make the November 4th R2 deadline, after I’m done with my GRE on Sep 30th
Whether you take a consultant's help or do the application by yourself, you have enough time between now and the Nov 4 deadline to put together a stellar application. Usually, I would keep 30 -45 days aside for the INSEAD application, just because it is long and needs multiple iterations on the essays, resume and recos.
However- the time it takes to compile a good application will vary from applicant to applicant, depending upon their ability to understand the essay question, pull out the most relevant set of stories and answer them in a compelling way. I have mostly seen applicants not addressing every part of the essay question - and that was the case this year with the failure essay, because it had many mini-questions (also because applicants think narrowly about the word 'failure' or write substandard examples thinking admitting a failure will make them look bad).
So, my recommendation- you have enough time. Put in the effort and get this out by 4th November. Ofcourse, your GRE result is still an unknown at this point, so you would want to ensure a competitive score before you press the submit button.
