Wow!! So, ISB wants us to spend close to 45-46 lakh just on the program, accommodation and food.
Suppose your pre-ISB net income pre-tax is 15 lakh (Modify as per your salary. Higher will lead to bigger losses)
Scenario 1
Total cost of 1 year = 60 lakh
You take a loan at 8.5% for 15 years => You spend 60k every month on EMI.
Median salary post-ISB = 28 lpa. Deduct one-time bonus and other such things (15-20%) => 22 lpa
Deduct EMI => Pre-tax income = 15 lpa - which is same as your pre-ISB income
Scenario 2
Take a loan and buy a house for 60 lakh in suburbs. Lease it out and calculate the rental value according to your location.
Houses generally appreciate at a faster rate in suburbs. So, evaluate this option
Scenario 3
Invest whatever savings you have in Mutual funds. Assume just 10% growth. Still you’ll be better off.

In Scenario 2 what about increments and subsequent bonuses?

Regarding the updated fee structure on ISB website for the PGP, there is a new component called 'Commitment fees' around 2.36L.

So, total fee -
2.36+3.54+32.77 = 38.77 + Living expenses, right?

39+3 (food/laptop/etc.) = 42 for shared
45 for studio

That depend on your pre-ISB job as well. If you are caught in a place where doing an MBA is the only way to get promoted / go for a new job / change your career, then ISB is of course better.
But if you are already in a decent job with decent prospects and not looking at drastically altering your career direction, then skipping ISB is an option you should seriously consider, esp. at this price point.

45-46 + revenue foregone, i.e., your 1-yr loss in income / salary during this course

Of course, I have not added opportunity cost. Assume you are the top 1 percentile and looking at MBB/starting your own company, then it is a different ballgame altogether. Even in that situation, you have to evaluate ISB with European B-schools and then take a decision.

How so? Please explain where this calculation does not fit in. If one wants to do an MBA, the 1st thing we should consider is ROI.

Especially with minimal international recruitments immediately post-ISB. Does anyone have the statistics of domestic and international placements?

Yep, 42L is exorbitant.

I was having a word with a current student of IIM-A PGPX as well.
Their overall 1 year cost is also around 38L.
Although the site boasts of a much lower fee (around 31, I believe) - they don't really include the accommodation/food/international trip costs.

The long-term gains of these brands (at least if you want to stay in India), however, surpasses the short-term losses - is what I feel

Hello everyone
Good day
I request if anyone can throw light on couple of doubts I have
1.If I am applying to round 2. Should I submit my GMAT score before dec4th or do we have any grace period with in which I can submit my score ?
2.if I am unable to apply for round 2. Can I use the same filled round2 application for round3? Or do I have fill everything for R3?
Thank you

1. Submit your GMAT Score before the deadline.
2. I’m not sure about this. But mostly I think it’ll be the same. (If you’re writing any long answers in the form, I think it’s best to get a copy of it in word Incase it resets your form)

Thank you 🙏

Well, I understand 1 thing. If you want to bring in people like Raghuram Rajan and co. for just 1 course, you have to charge exorbitant prices. They want to get visiting faculty like him so that they can boost FT rankings. But further increase in rankings will only happen if they can trap some more foreigners to pay 50 lakh+ for their course.

Dude. Stop this "If you don't like what you see, then get out of here" mindset. Spitting out facts and evaluating options is not wrong.
