Hey guys, I was just wondering, what happens if someone test covid positive on the day of gmat or may be the day before. Will gmat allow free reschedule?

Hi souvik19,
As per the guidelines on https://www.mba.com, You can reschedule or cancel your examination for a fee of $10. However, You cannot make changes within 24 hours prior to your exam.
Nothing specific is given in the GMAT handbook about Covid or any such circumstances. So, I think the above fee applies if you want to reschedule or cancel your exam in any case.

I thought the $10 reschedule fee is applicable only if you reschedule 7 days before your exam date. If your exam date is within 7 days they charge almost the entire amount to reschedule

I was wrong. The rescheduling fees for India are as per this link: https://www.mba.com/exams/gmat/about-th ... egulations

$10 is the service fee to be paid if you want to reschedule by phone. I misread it.

you can email them about this, if you submit proof about COVID infection then they’ll PROBABLY give you a voucher for the full amount cause this is not your fault
But I’m not sure if they’ll agree to remove your unattempted exam as 1st attempt

Hi all,

I have a doubt. I have heard from many people that to take the gmat test at test centre we need to have a passport which is atleast valid for 6 months prior to the exam date.

Although nothing as such is mentioned anywhere else, so I am skeptical since I am planning to take the test in the last week of July and passport will be expiring in mid of Jan, 2023.

Someone please clarify.

Thanks,
Niwedita B

Hey, I also could not find any such requirement of 6 months validity of the passport. In fact in this link: https://www.mba.com/frequently-asked-questions/gmat-exam/test-center-experience/what-to-expect-at-the-gmat-test-center#question0 of FAQs also, it says that the ID shall be valid (not expired). It doesn't specify the duration of the validity. If you are still in doubt and not willing to take risk, you may want to clarify it by sending your query to them.

The 6 month passport validity rule is for visa stamping or if you are flying abroad. It would be really funny if they ask the same for gmat exam. The passport serves as a ID proof and the fact that you have it should be enough to prove your identity

I already mailed them regarding the same. They have yet to reply.

souvik19 what you are saying makes sense. But I have heard from many people.

I am actually worried. I can't postpone my test much.

If anyone have taken the test recently and were in similar situation, please reply.

Regards,
Niwedita B

Hi everyone, You all must know that the 1st essay topic of the ISB application has been changed this year.

Old Topic: Describe with examples the most important personal quality that you possess which significantly enhances your prospects of being successful as a leader?

New Topic: Peer Learning is a major building block of PGP at ISB. Help us in understanding how will you be able to add value to the PGP peer group through your personal and professional qualities/capabilities?

Both the topics are basically about your personal and professional qualities but have different objectives. The old topic emphasized your leadership potential whereas the new focuses on your ability to add value to the peer group.

Read out some tips about the new topic and some sample essays at: https://www.isbmantra.com/blog/isb-pgp-essay-analysis/
