I don’t think schools have announced any difference they would keep in new/old GMAT while analysing applications. 5 year validity wouldn’t make sense if they give more weightage to new format.

Is it true that post 1st october the regular GMAT will be scrapped and only focus edition will be active? Or we will be having both the options?

I recently attended a Test Prep summit organized by GMAC, where they shared some official updates. The new GMAT Focus Edition is scheduled to be launched in Q4 2023. Both options will be available until (at-least) end of this year. Early Q1 2024 is when the current GMAT is expected to be scrapped.
