i don’t think ISB is accepting focus edition for this year, even for R3. I remember an Adcom member telling the same.

Sorry if it has been asked earlier, but is there a R2 in ISB? Also, is the chance of getting an admit in R1 better than R2?

There are 3 application rounds for ISB: R1 (application deadline Sep 10th 2023), R2 (application deadline Dec 2023: date TBA) and R3 (application deadline Jan 2024: date TBA).

While there may be a slight advantage in R1 than R2, apply when you have a strong (overall) application. Applying in R2 with a stronger profile can be better than applying in R1 with a weaker one. In other words, if you need more time perhaps to retake the GMAT, craft stronger/ compelling essays, update your professional achievements (although 3 months can be rather short for this point), etc. applying in R2 can actually be better than R1.

Additionally, you have a number of extracurricular activities and hobbies that demonstrate your leadership, communication, and artistic skills.

A stronger GMAT score would definitely support your application. Through your application focus on communicating the strengths of your candidature. Research on where you are headed post MBA.

(Since you have used the word ’officer’, we are assuming you are from PSU, if not please ignore this answer)

Your academics are strong. The extra curricular are really nice and being a trained signer and Kathak Dancer adds to your profile. Being a female working in maintenance part of steel industry is also commendable and your work experience will be valued.

For ISB though, you need to target a GMAT in 700s. That will help you to position yourself a little better in this competition. Profile wise, you must rest assured, just concentrate on getting a better GMAT for now.

Hello people, I need an urgent help. I’m at the test centre and unable to login to the system. I keep getting: “missing information:file exchange error during start up file”. The proctor is unable to help. I called the call centre, they too don’t know. Anybody knows why I’m getting this error?

This sounds very much like a system error, i.e. the proctor’s responsibility. I recommend contacting GMAC urgently and letting them know about this, so that they can help and allow you to reschedule the exam.

This is bad, I need write my exam today🤦🏾

Yeah, now he asked me to wait so that we can try on another system, I have another 30 mins. Any suggestions what other things I can try?

He called VCC And tried to re start, still no resolve. They told system is fine. I really do not want to re-schedule😅

Hi All,
If someone can advice! I have to apply for R2 ISB but right now have time to fill the application form. Can I fill the application form, get recommendations done and keep it saved online and submit the application when R2 dates open? Or
One to only fill the application form for R2 only after R2 application dates open. Reason is I will be switching to new organization next month and I want to take the recommendation from my current manager right now. It would be difficult to follow up with him when R2 starts (I will be in another organization). He does not live in India therefore informal communication will be difficult once I leave the company.
