Hi, is ISB accepting focus edition scores?

Hi. ISB will be accepting Focus Edition scores. However, if you're planning to apply in Round 1, then you would have to submit GMAT's incumbent pattern's score, as the GMAT Focus Edition does not get activated till, I guess, October.

In my opinion, it takes 3 months to prepare well (with 2-3 hours of daily effort). So you should be ready to book an exam date by October end and give the exam by November mid. You should start off with your essays in parallel and spend a couple of hours per week on that so that it doesn’t get overwhelming later on when you are giving mocks and revising for the GMAT. Hope this helps, all the best.
Any suggestions on how to start preparing for essays simultaneously?

Curious to know if ISB clarified this on some forum Rishab7?

If I’ve just started preparing, how much time should I give and ideally by when should my studies be targeted to finish if I want to apply for R2?
A month before the R2 deadline will be comfortable, since you would then get an entire month to work on your application KG_99.

Generally it takes 3-4 months to prepare for GMAT/GRE (for fulltime working professionals).

One should give GMAT latest by ? If someone wants to apply in R2 ?
Latest you can actually appear on the day of the application deadline as well Nabneet!

Refer to the following from PGP FAQs:

Can I apply with a Test Centre score report of the GMAT/GRE?

Yes, you can. The application can be submitted along with the test centre/unofficial score report. The official score report from Pearson VUE (GMAT) / ETS (GRE) should reach the Admissions Team within three weeks of application submission.

SarthakCareerEdge - Understanding the essay prompts (i.e. what is being asked/ expected) would be the first step. Then start preparing your anecdotes/ stories for each essay: this should take a couple hours a day of research/ contemplation and writing, and would help you form a good base to then iterate on.

Please refer to my detailed analysis of the latest ISB essays and strategies on how to craft your impactful essays:

Are the chances equal for someone applying in ISB EEO Round 1 and Round 2 or is there any disadvantage for Round 2 applicants just like we have in many other applications while applying to round 2?

I am assuming you are asking this question because you will not be ready with your GMAT/GRE score by R1 deadline ishika.8.

Don't worry about this at all. Apply in R2 with a good score & great application, and you should be in. :)

All the best.

Not for ISB. The school has stated in multiple info-sessions and articles that you should apply when you are ready with the best version of your candidature and GMAT/GRE score. So you can apply in R2 as well (Dec 4th was the deadline last year for the same), without any reservations. Hope this helps, all the best!

Planning to apply for ISB in R2/R3 depending on my GMAT score, which I am planning to appear in mid November. Current GMAT(mock) score is only 570(appeared in the month on May without much preparation)

Should I apply for ISB this year or should I wait until next year and apply with an enhanced profile(if my current profile doesn’t make the cut)?

I am not really able to see how your profile will undergo some dramatic & significant change by next year usernameforgc. So, why wait?

So, if you get a good GMAT score by November, would suggest that you apply this year.

This is for Stage-2 of YLP....right abhikap14?

I am slightly curious to understand why you want a profile review at this stage :-o
