If you score lesser than (say) 670, there is no point of applying, in my opinion priyankagoud.

If you do restart, make sure that you prepare for the GMAT focus edition, since that would make much more sense for next year.

TusharKataria - some points from an initial review:

1. Undergrad GPA is a bit lower, although the school pedigree is strong. A solid GMAT score (ideally above ISB's average ~713) would position the profile well.

2. Professional experience seems interesting and can potentially be a differentiating factor. Your role(s)/ responsibilities in these organizations are not clear though - please clarify these. Highlighting your key achievements in these roles and lessons you have picked up, which can help you during/ post MBA is key.

3. What are your post-MBA goals i.e. target sector, function? Linking your past experiences, transferrable skills and how an MBA/ ISB can help achieve your goals can help craft a strong narrative.

Feel free to reach out for a deeper chat.

Hey, can anyone help me out on the initial thought process on how should I begin my essay writing?
Like all aspirants, I want to stand out. Any exercise on a regular basis that I should follow to make a great story of where I come from?

Hi KG_99 -

Self introspection is the first step. Start preparing your anecdotes/ stories (from personal and professional lives): this should take a couple hours a day of research/ contemplation and writing, and would help you form a good base to then iterate on. Please refer to my detailed analysis of the latest ISB essays and tips on how to craft impactful essays:

https://admitstreet.com/blog/isb-essay/

If it interests you, I am conducting an "ISB Essays Workshop" this weekend with an ISB alum (Co '21) where we will decode ISB's new essay prompts and provide insights on how to craft strong essays. Details and registrations at: https://bit.ly/admitstreet_isb

GeetJo09 hope this finds you well.

I have had the privilege of working with former teachers in the past, some of whom have been successfully accepted to top schools like Tepper and ISB. Based on my experience, I recommend that you focus on improving your GRE score. While good storytelling is important, it cannot fully compensate for the academic rigor and analytical nature of MBA programs. Admissions committees look primarily at whether an applicant can handle the demanding academic curriculum, especially in quantitatively challenging subjects.

If you need advice on your application strategy, please feel free to get in touch. I am happy to help you where I can.

Best wishes

TusharKataria hope this finds you well

You did not mention in detail, but from the surface of it, looks like a stellar experience overall working in social contribution and the government policy realm. Most of the skills a future leader must possess depend heavily on emotional intelligence. Without interacting with people from different cultures, hierarchies, and motivations, it is difficult to understand the realities on the ground, even if you know all the management concepts. This type of grassroots experience will set you apart as an MBA candidate.

Since many PGP/MBA candidates will have advisory roles in their future jobs, your prior experience in the policy and execution realm will be an advantage. The problems that the majority of the world's population suffers from are not first-world problems. Governments and nonprofit organizations are not capable of solving problems of this magnitude on their own. The experience of a professional who has worked in a highly systematized and incentive-based environment would enhance the effectiveness of the impact sector. Reflect on your previous engagements and initiatives that have given you the ability to navigate a complex cross-cultural environment, a criterion considered particularly important for excellence at a global business school like ISB.

Research your post-PGP goals well and show an impressive vision.

Feel free to reach out for guidance on application strategy and interviews

Best wishes
