See the part you can control is your score in GMAT (you got good one), and your application process.

Even if you lack in Extra Curricular, you can choose to direct it in another way with your story

Profile is good, with score part, experience part is ok, they look for more promotions rather than just how much bonuses/targets one achieved

They looking for leaders, not great employees

Any extra curricular in 12momths before your application can be easily seen by adcoms that it was done for application sake. Also everyone’s manager is going to give strong LOR, please reconsider your approach. You can still apply this year, just figure out how you can put your best story

Hello bhardwaj25,

While no score will guarantee an interview call, you must aim for a score in excess of 675 on the GMAT; higher the better.

In addition to the above, the following video will help you put forth a compelling set of essays:

Hope this helps.

All the best!

Hi Soma12 ,

Your profile shows strong academics, with a B.Tech from NIT Trichy and solid 10th/12th scores. Your 3.5 years work experience in a recognized firm is valuable, including promotions and leadership in learning new tech and mentoring, shows professional growth. However, your 645 GMAT focus score is decent, aiming for 10 or 20 points + will improve your competitiveness. Leadership in college clubs and impactful social work, like teaching 150+ students, demonstrate strong people skills and responsibility. To strengthen your application you shall focus on how to connect the experiential dots and build a great story to stand out from other applicants in the pool, and consider a GMAT retake if feasible.

We are happy to hop on a call sometime next week to discuss your profile in detail to assess your chances better for ISB and other top b-schools, if that suits you.

Cheers!

Hey @bhardwaj25 , hope you are doing well.

You can aim for a GMAT FE score of 655+ to strengthen your profile. With 9 years in digital transformation (4 internationally), plus certifications like PMP and Six Sigma, you have a strong foundation. However, as this would be your second MBA, you’ll need to clearly articulate why ISB is essential for your career growth. Emphasize your international experience, consulting skills, and unique contributions to set yourself apart. A strong GMAT score and compelling narrative with an impactful story altogether, will make you a competitive candidate. Best of luck!

If you’d like, we are happy to hop on a call with you 1:1 to discuss your profile in depth and gauge your chances at ISB and other top B schools.

Cheers!

Hi Everyone, I have a total of 10 years of workex into many startups - Zomato, Delhivery, Blinkit & Noon (UAE stationed). I do not have any certification - PMP etc. I have handled team throughout the last 10 years. What GMAT FE should I target and what are my overall chances for ISB next year?

Hello
Can someone please provide some input on my profile for class of 26? or if I might be better off waiting an year and building it further.

GMAT FE : 695
Class 10 : 10 GPA
Class 12 : 96%
Btech : 7.8 GPA , EEE - BITS Pilani - Pilani Campus

3 Years experience as Data analyst cum decision scientist at PayPal. Consistently received glowing reviews from my managers and senior team members as well as the maximum bonuses possible. [I consider this the strongest point of my application, since i am confident my manager can provide a very strong LOR here if needed]

Extra curriculars : And now we come to the weak point. I have dabbled in several activities like college programming clubs, Art clubs or games but always as a participant, never as the leader or organizer. Same for my professional life. Participated in a bunch of events organized for the community such as school wall paining, merchant connect etc but as a participant.
I am wondering if waiting an year, perhaps engaging more in extra curriculars and building PORs can help?
You have a very good profile and GMAT score.

Do not wait for another year KeshaVSaini.

Decent profile Soma12.

If you feel that you can get a better GMAT score, a reattempt will not hurt.

Any further info for R1 interviews in Bengaluru location ? Bit disappointed as I was expecting one and didn't receive. Although my application was only marked complete in the second week of October due to a document re-upload.

Thank you !

Hi thekingslay
Priyanka here from ARINGO, with 10 years of experience, a score in the range of 655-665 would be decent for ISB. However, anything above that score will further strengthen your chances of a successful admit.

Hi Soma12

Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, a 645 GMAT looks kind of okayish, but with a 7.95 CGPA, I would recommend going in for a retake. Since you have a low GPA, your GMAT score should be able to compensate for it. Focus on a score close to 675-685 atleast.

3+ years at Deloitte Consulting USI and moving up from Analyst to Consultant plus mentoring over 15 colleagues looks impressive. Highlight your leadership skills, your impact and your desire to learn and succeed. Focus on aligning your goals with the values of school. One thing that might catch the eye of the adcoms is the new teaching method you build to overcome the language barrier, it looks impressive, talk more about it.
