Hi
Lucifer9,
Your work experience in fintech is a significant asset, especially given how rapidly the industry has grown and its continued potential. This background will definitely stand out. Additionally, your Letters of Recommendation (LORs) seem well-sorted, which is great. Remember, it’s not necessarily about having a CXO as a recommender, but more about the quality of the recommendation and whether you’ve worked directly with them.
That said, the main challenge for your ISB application—and later for a career in consulting—will be your academic record. While state boards have different grading systems, a 70% score might be considered on the lower side. Furthermore, your undergraduate institution is not tier-1, and your GMAT score of 595 is well below the median for ISB and other top B-schools.
The area where you can make the most significant improvement is your GMAT score. I’d recommend aiming for a 665+ to strengthen your chances for both ISB and consulting. Consider applying in Round 2 after improving your score.
If you need any assistance along the way, feel free to reach out.
Good luck!
