Your academic background looks solid, which is definitely a positive. Regarding your GMAT score of 690, is this from the old scale or the GMAT Focus Edition? There’s a significant difference between the two, so it’s important to clarify.

Your work experience is quite unique and could set you apart. I’m curious, do you speak Japanese? I ask because Accenture recruits at ISB for roles that require Japanese language proficiency, which could make your placement more straightforward from the admissions committee’s perspective. Additionally, your experience would add value to courses like Operations Management, Project Management, Decision Modelling and Optimisation, and Supply Chain Management, where Japanese case studies are frequently used.

So yes, you should definitely consider applying. Also, did you take your GMAT online? If you took it offline, there’s no need to worry.

Hi Everyone!
I gave my first attempt yesterday, scored 645, I am not satisfied with my score and planning to give another attempt in 45 days and target R2 for ISB and US/UK colleges.
here is more background about me-
10th - 10 CGPA
12th - 89.2%
BTech - VIT Vellore - 8.8 CGPA
3 yrs work ex as Software Eng in Optum (UHG)

1. I wanted to know whats the use of feature by GMAC which says "send your score to 5 colleges for free"
2. how can I shortlist those colleges
3. a quick review of my profile and what score should I be targeting

-College Bsc from du -1st division
-MBA(2yr) from TERI University in 2012-2014
Work ex almost 9yrs
-Worked as Lead in EY, India til 2020
-moved to Canada and worked Senior Management consultant- in the digital transformation/cloud consulting space till March 2024
-PMP and Six Sigma-certified -Green Belt
-Cloud Azure certified.

Have my exam on the 30th sep- what should be my aim and how to prepare for the essay and SOP (as this would be my second MBA) as the deadline is 9th of October

In your SOP, explain why you want to do a second MBA and how it fits into your career goals. Talk about specific skills or knowledge you hope to gain. Showcase your long job history, leadership positions, and how they've influenced your outlook. Explain how your background and your peers will contribute to the program. Outline your future career aspirations post-MBA and how the program will help you achieve them. Focus on making a compelling application and how you are perfect for the program. I suggest you apply in R1, as this Round has a higher chances of acceptance.

ISB average is around 716 (Classic) - correct me if this is off, which is about 665-675 on Focus so you want to be at least at average.

700+ in tradtional GMAT . which comes down to 665-675 range. GMAT FE can't end with zero .

I got a 665 score last friday (24th August) but I haven’t received an official score report from GMAC yet. Should I be worried! I’m very worried right now. I gave it in test centre.

Please do let me know, marks one week today. I have already mailed and called them once. They said 3-5 working days and at times 20 days (which is very excessive)

Your academic background is strong, but your GMAT FE score of 575 is below average, so I would suggest retaking it and aim for a score between 665 and 675 and apply in round 2. This will definitely boost your chances .
