Hey All ,
I am just starting my prep and application for round 2 ISB, bit late not sure if i would crack it but i wanna ask, does it make sense to join admission consultant or its better to do on our own ?
*Disclaimer: I am a GMAT expert and Admission consultant*

Let me answer it this way

- Application consulting is a service that is valuable for those who either lack resources or the knowledge to do application as expected by the schools.

Many candidates who even have the knowledge and resources find the expert opinion of consultant much useful in curating the responses of essay questions in bets possible ways.

So yes, it’s good to have someone finding flaws credibly in your responses only to perfect them.

But is it necessary to hire a consultant???

Obviously NO

Since the stakes are high (1 year atleast) so one should weight the need of it objectively.

P.S. Many graduates of ISB/IIM etc working in some stable corporate job and offering such services may sometime harm you more than help you. Most of these are ones who took help from someone like me just a year ago. 😛

So it’s your responsibility to assess the value in the feedback whether it comes from alumni or friend or family.

Every feedback matters but every feedback shouldn’t be detrimental.

There would be very limited value in getting in touch with a Consultant at this stage, when you are just about starting to prepare for GMAT.

Once you have made some progress in your prep and have some idea of the approximate score that you might end up with, it might be a good time to discuss with a Consultant.

Good luck!

Hi, I see this is your first post on the forum. Welcome to GMATClub.

I believe the source filter becomes activated for a user only once the user has made "x" number of posts on the GMATClub forum (I don't exactly remember what the exact value of "x" is).

Planning to do an MBA because-

I’ve hit a glass ceiling in my current role. The position I aspire to do not exist within my organization. While switching firms in the same industry might seem like an option, it would mean starting over and lengthening my journey to reach my career goals. I believe pursuing an MBA from a reputable college is the most effective way to bridge this gap and accelerate my career progression.

I am planning to give another attempt at GMAT. What kind of score would actually land me an interview and will differentiate my profile amongst the others? Also line of questions should I expect as I am not into research. My role is more into planning and devising the investment strategy. Helping my co-founder do the same for his clients. I am also involved into testing IT projects and L&D decision making. Thanks!

It is hard as they put LSAT level passages in their mock test. Majority questions are 700+ level.

Their test is also not adaptive. So will get all hard questions and face time crunch. However, their tests are very helpful practice wise.

Hi Suren3150,

For your peace of mind, you can opt for consulting earlier; you will just need to fill a couple of questionnaires and be available for a few calls; rest, you can focus on your prep and we will do the heavy lifting. You can know more by inquiring with us; the team will schedule a strategy session for you.

All the best!

Hello @WA@ayx2713,

When it comes to the key question, "Which is the best GMAT course?", the answers you find are generally extreme and often, unfortunately, biased.

Here’s a rational, 3-step approach we recommend to help you identify the course that truly suits your prep needs:
1. Check verified reviews on GMAT Club.
You’ll find hundreds of genuine reviews for all major GMAT courses. These insights offer a broad, balanced perspective.
2. Explore free trials.
Every reputable course offers a free trial. Just a few hours (or even minutes) on each platform will often give you a clear sense of whether it matches your learning style.
3. Choose the course that fits you.
Once you’ve explored the options hands-on, go with the one that feels most aligned with your preferences and study rhythm.
We understand this may not be the high-pitched, “X is the best course!” type of recommendation some may expect. But this method is logical and reliable. A few minutes spent following these steps can ensure that your decision is firsthand, unbiased, and well-informed.

Thanks, and all the very best!
