Hello,
Abhishek here,
Can someone suggest what should i be targeting competative GMAT score.
Age -28
10th - 90%
Engineering Diploma - 79%
Engineering Graduation -8.7 CGPA
Total full time work exp - 5+ years
Out of which
Initial 3 years are based on diploma.mainly in project management and manufacturing.worked in well known organisation.
Latest 2+ years(post graduation) are in design and product development.
Working in defence-aerospace startup setup.Developing some unique and first in nation products.
Also if anyone can guide on by latest when can I appear for GMAT if I am targeting R1 (purely because of max chances of scholarship)
To be solidly competitive for top Indian programs like ISB or IIM PGPX, and maximize your shot at scholarships:
Target 685+ on GMAT Focus Edition
655–675 is still competitive if your story, impact, and recos are strong. But chances of Scholarship would be minimal.
Below 655 makes it more of an uphill climb in this highly qualified pool as a Male applicant
Your 5+ years of experience — with clear growth and domain depth — aligns really well with what IIMs and ISB value in mid-career candidates.
Ideally take the GMAT by end of August /1st week of Sep at the latest
If you’re close, ISB allows score submission a few days after deadline — but aim earlier to leave room for retakes if needed
