Everyone keeps saying that both are same, while I have a different opinion and I see it as more complex than just a one-liner answer

1) I can understand someone staying in Lucknow may not want to come to Delhi due to various obligations and him/her choosing virtual mode for interview is perfect

2) Someone who is in a job that requires frequent travel would also fall in the category that would benefit from a virtual interview

3) When a candidate who lives in Delhi/Mumbai/Hyderabad/Bangalore in a stable job but chooses a virtual interview, I, as an interviewer, might not see such candidate dedicated enough as the act of taking virtual mode just for comfort might seem like lack of interest to grab an opportunity to network with an alumni

There are always people who get in with 615 GMAT, or low GPA or through virtual interview but should we consider them as benchmark?

Make your decision more informed...🙂

I agree it might be perceived by the interviewed negatively if a candidate in Delhi chooses the virtual option, but i think there would no real effect on the scoring and final selection

Hi @GMATinsight

How can we add charter in the education section of the application? It’s asking for GPA.

Will adding it to ‘Other Courses’ have any less impact?

let it shine in CV on top and write it here in other courses then

make sure that your essays include that you have CFA. It will add weight

all are connected... Interviewer gives score of interview which contributes in decision of selection.

Completely agree, but they can’t provide a lower score which will make or break simply because the candidate chose a virtual interview.

can’t is a very strong word... I don’t use it often when it comes to people... 😛

an interviewer can give you bad score of interview even if
1) you are not properly dressed as per his/her standard
2) If you are too casual or formal
3) if you don’t greet them they way they like
4) if your face doesn’t carry a smile

and the list is long..

and non-one will ever ask the interviewer why he/she did what he/she did

I don’t think the interviewers who are ISB alums themselves will be so naive and demanding to provide a negative score for these things. Of course basic things like formal dressing is expected. But to include things like dressing according to their standards or greet them in their way are too extreme.
Plus coming back to the point, the entire reason the virtual option is provided is for convience. So merely providing a negative score for virtual option makes no sense.

Hey everyone, wanted to get your thoughts here
I took an official mock today and specifically in QA section I scored 85 despite just getting 2 questions incorrect (as per my judgement they were hard questions, Ques #11 and #21)

I just wanted to understand is this something we expect in actual exam as well. For most of my EG mocks I have scored 85 even if I got 4-5 medium questions incorrect and considering that this seems a little tougher evaluation. I am just trying to understand on what really does impact my score.

Callout - To be fair at the start of the section I was served 2-3 very easy-medium questions (most likely because my previous section was mixed bag) but I dont think so it should have that much impact
The official test is adaptive so it will act and behave very different from the non-adaptive tests. See here: horrible-gmat-focus-score-report-directory-434958.html

Just wanted to check - is it worth mentioning GK competitions won at the state level 12 years back in the awards section?

Given it was won at State level (assuming you were positioned well), it is indeed worth to mention, if you don’t have anything more substantial.
A friend of mine had added details of awards won during school/college; and questions were asked during interview which she was able to tackle. (She was able to convert!)
