Hi,

There isn't enough detail about your work experience to provide a comprehensive evaluation, but your academic profile looks solid. Your post-MBA goals should align with your previous experience and clearly explain why an MBA is the logical next step. Since you're targeting the 2028 intake, you have ample time to strengthen both your profile and your GMAT score. Aim for a GMAT Focus score of 675+ to remain competitive for the top programs.

Happy to connect if you’d like to discuss your profile in more detail.

What is the coherent thread connecting polymer engineering to GBS analytics at Deloitte, then to PwC, and finally to a strategy role at a conglomerate? You need to deep dive into your past experiences to identify what really is your USP with respect to the skills or knowledge of a particular field that you are bringing to the table.
What kind of strategy roles do you wish to pursue, and why should those employers care about your knowledge? It may seem counterintuitive at this point, but strategy/consulting is a vast domain, and you can only stand out if you speak in specific terms about how you have positively impacted or influenced strategies/ business decisions through meaningful insights, making yourself a knowledgeable professional in specific areas. You need a decent score, something upwards of 675 but a much stronger career narrative.

Best wishes

Hi Gagan,
You grades, professional qualifications and experience are all highly supportive of your application in all the target schools.

Your professional Qualification of CA further strengthens it threefold.

You should target the following scores for following target schools

INSEAD: 685 or more
ISB and HEC: 665 or more
IIM A|B|C|ESADE : 645 or more

You can reach me directlt if you wish to discuss your alignment with these schools further.

Hi GaganB

Hope you are doing great. Since you have stayed in one domain for so long, you will need a very targeted career goals approach when pitching your candidacy. Can I be honest and say that the adcom will look to you to explain exactly where you see yourself fitting post-MBA, based on your research? The reason is that, at most business schools, the adcoms are not particularly excited about taxation or tax-audit profiles because of certain preconceived notions, and your entire application needs to be built around challenging those notions.
The CA qualification is definitely a great accolade on your profile. Your strongest opportunities could lie in adjacent domains such as corporate finance, deal advisory, transaction services, CFO strategy, financial consulting, and private equity portfolio operations depending on your past expertise. Indian schools seem more suited to your objectives, but without knowing the details of your work experience, I am not in a position to comment on the European programs.
Should you want to discuss it further, shoot me a message. In the meantime, you may read my musings on adjacent topics.

A more general question - If we take GMAT after deadlines, Can we update our GMAT scores in the application by mailing them? How far away from deadline is it possible?
