Hi
GaganBHope you are doing great. Since you have stayed in one domain for so long, you will need a very targeted career goals approach when pitching your candidacy. Can I be honest and say that the adcom will look to you to explain exactly where you see yourself fitting post-MBA, based on your research? The reason is that, at most business schools, the adcoms are not particularly excited about taxation or tax-audit profiles because of certain preconceived notions, and your entire application needs to be built around challenging those notions.
The CA qualification is definitely a great accolade on your profile. Your strongest opportunities could lie in adjacent domains such as corporate finance, deal advisory, transaction services, CFO strategy, financial consulting, and private equity portfolio operations depending on your past expertise. Indian schools seem more suited to your objectives, but without knowing the details of your work experience, I am not in a position to comment on the European programs.
Should you want to discuss it further, shoot me a message. In the meantime, you may read my musings on adjacent topics.
