That's what my theory is R1 admits are sent out and if its still awaiting decision its probably deferral to R2 or something. It is a little weird not to officially state that if thats the case. But decision rollouts shouldn't take this much time specially when you compare the norms from other universities. But this is just a guess, I might be wrong and they might just have had a lot of applications this year, so don't focus on it too much. Just relax and hope for the best.

"Awaiting decision" means that the committee is yet to make a decision on your candidacy. Rice Jones has rolling decisions format so not all decisions will be posted on the same date. Thus, comparing Rice with other schools that declare results on a specific date is wrong. I’m sure that someone who is "really interested" in this program must be known to this distinction.
As Arundhuti has correctly pointed out, this is just day two of the decisions, so please be hopeful than critical of the school that you want to spent two years at.
If you do not receive a decision by the end of this week. That’s when the alarming bells must start ringing in your head.

I spoke to Maria, recruiter, and she said that admits would be rolled out till the rest of the month. I guess till Christmas holiday begin

As you guys share your anxiety, I wish you guys nothing but the best. We all put lots of effort and time into this so I hope we all ended up well.

I have a master’s degree in math and was admitted into FTMBA in Jones recently. But I have a family that does not support my education. My wife left me
because she thought I was way too into improve myself in a sense that she cannot keep up to me. She strongly discourage my decision of getting one more
master’s degree as she literally said "If you want to get this degree we are going divorce and our daughter stays with me". She thinks that I am putting her into a
bad position as her degrees cannot keep up with mine, and her family weirdly supports her saying... Now I am at a position of being abroad
alone fighting for my future while they are back to my home country, and we are going through divorce right now. Some say that I should give up everything and go back to
my family but I think it is them doing the wrong thing by limiting my freedom. It is not easy time for me. Luckily I got into this program so I did not lose in this bet
as I got something out of it.

So my point is, whatever you are going through, whether waiting for decision or maybe even received a ding in the end, I am here with you. Fight for it, dont panic and
dont give up, everything will work out.
