Booked my On-Campus Interview! Looks like I'll have to spend one night over there. Anyone have good suggestions for cheap accommodation near campus?

Please, count me in for R1. I'll be interviewed in Brazil by an alumni on 11/11.

I thought you guys might find this interesting. Since I did my interview in September, I am pretty much done with my application for Kellogg. Here is the notice that comes with a complete status. It looks like decisions can come out at any point:

Quote:
Kellogg Status Check
All the required elements of your application are complete.

If your interview has been completed, the application has been submitted for review to the admissions committee. If your interview has not been conducted, the application will be submitted to the admissions committee upon completion of the interview. The next status check update will be the admission decision (Admit, Waitlist or Deny). When a decision has been rendered, the Office of Admissions will send you an email notifying you to check your status for your decision. Decisions will be released throughout the round, but the majority of decisions will be released during the last several weeks of the round.

I'm in the same boat - submitted R1 - interviewed in September and my status changes to the above today

I had submitted my application in September, still haven't received any interview information. I am an international applicant, should I be mailing the admission committee or wait and watch.

Same here. Submitted in September but nothing yet. I guess we should probably wait till the end of the 8th week (till 19th November). Would anyone else like to suggest otherwise?

I believe you should just wait.
I`m an international applicant and received an interview waiver a week ago.

As a reapplicant, I would say just wait. Especially if you submitted near the deadline. The admissions office is swamped with interviews. After 8 weeks, reaching out might be appropriate, but they did offer a timeline of 6-8 weeks.

Oh thanks for all the inputs. Was getting restless, I will wait for some more time.

The Hilton Orrington and Hilton Garden Inn in Evanston are both about a 10-15 minute walk from Kellogg. There's a Best Western that's a little farther away (probably more like 20 mins walk), but it tends to be a little cheaper.

Hey guys, I just got promoted. Any tips on how should I handle this? I have already submitted both part of my app and my interview is waived. I could get a telephonic interview later or I may not. Is promotion at this juncture going to add value to the submitted app?

IMO bschool wants successful candidates and a promotion is a proof of your career progression and success? So I'd say it would be a plus unless your promotion puts you into a more difficult position to answer the question "why you (still) need an mba?".

I am struggling with what I should wear at the interview!

The interview is scheduled on a Saturday and the interviewer, in his early 30s, suggests that we meet at a cafe. It seems to be more casual than I expected. Should I still wear formal? Thanks!

I was promoted after I submitted Section 1 of my application. I called the AO and they told me to email them an updated resume and/or stats and they would add it to my file. The people in the admissions office are extremely nice and helpful so don't hesitate to give them a call.
