One thing that I cannot wrap my head around is the whole interview waiver.
There was a video posted by Admissions that pretty much said the admissions will review your file only if the application is complete( the interview has been conducted). They said that if they really like your application, they will waive your interview so they can start discussion your admission. But the facts show that most people who get a waiver ended up being dinged.
Most schools have much simpler process. They like you--> they invite you to an interview OR if they dont like you---> they dont invite you for an interview. I dont get the whole waiver thing
Hate to the be the one on here to bust the bubble, but the interview waiver merely allows them to proceed with the review of an application. They're only stating because they have assumed most applicants are aware, that up until recently anyways, that Kellogg interviews everyone. By "waiving" they're informing candidates that they are reviewing the application without an interview-something that the school has not usually done in the past. Is it possible that you can receive a waiver and then interview? Surely so. Because Kellogg interviews, or previously had, interviewed everyone ADcom looked at applications all at once vs schools who take a look at your app and then extend an invite. So what can come from a waiver is three things- 1. Invite to Interview 2. Waitlist 3. Rejection. It would appear that 1 would be better than 2 in this instance and its quite possible that option 2 doesn't exist at all. But I am certain, one million zillion kabillion times over, no candidate is getting in without an interview. I am not implying that anyone has thought this, but this will certainly not be the case.
