To a certain degree, agreed. But it can never replace the conviction of a recommendation provided by a consulting firm

Maybe a reduction in headcount night take place but it'll normalize over time

*Thank you guys for quick responses ,hope everyone responds
I’d be careful drawing conclusions like that. Schools don’t shape their interview invites around short-term “industry hype” like AI or digital transformation. Admissions is a long-term bet on leadership potential and fit with the program, not on whatever field is trending this year. If you look at past classes, AI and tech folks were already well-represented even before ChatGPT and GenAI became buzzwords, not because of “AI,” but because those applicants often show analytical strength, impact, and adaptability. The same can be said for consultants, nonprofit leaders, and entrepreneurs. Every cycle has strong candidates from each area. Also, schools don’t optimize interview invites for placement stats that early in the process. That happens much later, when they’re helping students recruit. Admissions teams care more about whether someone will contribute to the classroom, handle the academics, and align with their culture.

So while polls like this are interesting, they rarely reveal meaningful “trends.” They mostly reflect which applicants are active in this chat or comfortable sharing their status. Real insights come from class profiles after the cycle ends and post 1 year like wharton that released its class profile a few days ago, not from mid-round anecdotes. Instead of overanalyzing trends, it’s better to start reflecting on your own application. Ask where you can enrich your story or fill any gaps for R2. These polls don’t help anyone per say, tomorrow you’ll see someone from a “non-AI” background get in, and the theory falls apart. Adcoms build classes, not clusters. Let us focus on what you can control.

Thanks for sharing your insights.Currently iam reflecting on my essays and application .I just want to know the additional factors that might impact.i am not saying that this is the only driving factor in the admission criteria
Hey, totally get your point. It’s good that you’re reflecting. Most people skip that part after R1.
But honestly, don’t overthink these background trends. Adcoms don’t pick by industry, they build a mix.
If you’re revisiting your essays, maybe just focus on: Showing why you and not just what you’ve done, highlighting how you’d add to the class, not just fit in.
That reflection will take you way further than trying to guess what’s “in demand” right now. You’re doing the right thing already Mate👍

Hi guys!
My recommenders (both of them) are not receiving the LOR emails from the school.
I’ve tried by sending a reminder... but still no email.
What do I do in this case?

Check if your company policy blocks them. Mail it to adcom (they would probably ask you to mail to their personal email)

Would I mail their personal email ids.... Or is it better if I make my recommenders mail their personal mail id to the adcom
That way it would be more authentic I guess

They received mails from other schools
This is the first one I’m facing a problem with

It should be their official mail ids. Not personal

I think any messages blocked by the domain pastmaster should be unblockable. Ask the it team of the respective company to unblock those addresses... or maybe just those mails

In my case, we get a weekly update of all the mails that were blocked by the domain postmaster... and we can elect to view them

Ask them if they have a similar functionality with their emails

Can you tell me the address
I’ll try getting it checked with someone

But again I don’t know if I can get my IT team involved
For now only my recommenders know that I’m applying to B school
