In my personal experience the interviewer was an older indian alum at a different school and the issue was the interviewer was quite grilling, got a lot of questioning and pushback on my goals
I had a similar experience. That paralleled the interview I had for FMS long back, but I don't expect such an interview for US school, which more likely than not, tends to be conversational.

I don't necessarily think this applies at the interview stage. In my experience the main obstacle at this point is the communication. As in, Indian students often have a language barrier and/or are not as polished in the delivery of answers. As a result, even if the interviewer themselves is Indian, it is difficult to fully comprehend the answer.
I don't think that this is true.
But we're side stepping

Negative. I've encountered many prospective and current students across T15 schools who are not very good at English. It might sound "fluent" and they might be okay in conversation with an American, but under interview pressure etc. it really shows.
Eh
I’m pretty sure Top 15 schools select interviewers who ignore small things such as accent or maybe a fumble when thinking about words. If the interviewer isn’t looking to grasp the idea behind your goals and application and looking at how polished your delivery is, then you’re screwed either way.
There’s a toefl requirement for english proficiency.

Coming to the point
There’s an attitude difference between Indian and western professionals that stems from upbringing and work culture. It’s as simple as that.

I think that's more to do with having been in the workplace/the style of interviews conducted there vs. adcom running the interview (tends to be more lighthearted in my experience)
This makes sense

But can someone confirm for Ross?
R1 applicants?

A Ross alum advised me to have two versions of my goals, one for Indian interviewers and another for non-Indian interviewers before my R1 interview.

I mean Indian interviewers are more likely to call BS . Especially when goals are to reform healthcare or education back home. Every second person says the same.

For applications, these do sell. If you are able to back it up. These indian interviewers are not reviewing you apps.

That's ok guys. Let's make sure when it's our turn to interview, we make sure the interviewer enjoys the experience.
