Has anyone's optional video been viewed twice? (On a Ipad in Massachusetts).

Mine was viewed almost 30 days apart...this can't be good. Probably debating whether to ding or WL me. I can't think of a reason to look at it twice unless I am a marginal candidate.

I disagree with your ding/WL assessment. Have faith!
If you scroll up and read some of the links (interviews with RG etc) you will see that an Adcom member looks at your whole application, makes notes and a recommendation. Then LATER (maybe 30 days) a panel of 3 Adcom members review the notes and recommendation and make the decision whether or not to send an interview invite.
Long story short - 2 views 30 days apart doesn't sound bad to me at all! I think you overanalyzing! Good luck!

Mine was also just looked at (just 24s out of the 5min) - Now this is not a good sign. Btw, I wonder if they realize that we can know when they partially ignore our videos...

Mine does have a "unknown US region" view on an iPad. My guess is that Adcom were looking at it while they were on travel through VPN.

Talked to Adcom- She said that there are still invites to be sent out for US applicants. If you haven't received an invite yet but will in the future then you can expect to interview the first week of December. Hope this helps!!!!!

Let me give you a more optimistic outlook. Most of these slots, in fact almost all, are on Tuesday next week. So if they were buffer slots, they would probably not have them all in the same day. All the best!

Sir, your critical reasoning skills are what have gotten you an invite. Salute!
Here's another logic that these 8 slots are likely NOT buffer slots: Someone earlier in this thread mentioned that slots in Shanghai were 100% booked. I don't think MIT would keep buffer slots in one country but not in another equally popular (from number of applicants perspective) country.

Anyone in Europe? I am not very nervuous because I´ve been told that MIT Admissions take their time to send out invitations, but to remain just waiting is hard...

SE Europe here and not had an invite. I have not heard of anyone else in Europe getting one, so presume our chances are still the same.

I've had one view of my optional video essay about 2 weeks ago - not sure if that means anything - but seems to be a keen topic of debate on the forum!

As I mentioned before, I had to wait 7 weeks between submitting and getting an invite last season so I'm not too worried.

Good luck hugoness! May see you in London/Paris/Madrid? (note that I don't know the location but this is where they did them last year).

Would you mind telling us if you submitted an optional video? And if so, if it has been watched and when?

Any south american has received an invite yet? I want so much to get into MIT and this long wait is killing me...

they may be comparing you with someone with a similar profile. They probably do a large short list, and then a small one.
